Neuroprotective Effect of Myxobacterial Extracts on Quinolinic Acid-Induced Toxicity in Primary Human Neurons.
Mona Dehhaghi,Mona Dehhaghi,Vanessa Tan,Benjamin Heng,Nady Braidy,Fatemeh Mohammadipanah,Gilles J. Guillemin +6 more
TL;DR: The results showed that some myxobacterial extracts can significantly attenuate formation of reactive oxygen species (ROS), nitric oxide (NO) production, and extracellular lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) activity of human neurons, and some extracts were also able to reduce neuronal Nitric oxide synthase (nNOS) activity.
Journal ArticleDOI
Characterization of endoglucanase from Paenibacillus sp. M33, a novel isolate from a freshwater swamp forest.
TL;DR: The newly isolated Paenibacillus sp.
Journal ArticleDOI
Francisella tularensis T-cell antigen identification using humanized HLA-DR4 transgenic mice.
Jieh Juen Yu,Tatareddy Goluguri,M. Neal Guentzel,James P. Chambers,Ashlesh K. Murthy,Karl E. Klose,Thomas G. Forsthuber,Bernard P. Arulanandam +7 more
TL;DR: Intranasal immunization of HLA-DR4 tg mice with the single antigen FopB conferred significant protection against lethal pulmonary challenge with an F. tularensis subsp.

Persistence of microcystin production by Planktothrix agardhii (Cyanobacteria) exposed to different salinities
TL;DR: It is shown that moderate to high salt levels do not inhibit microcystin production by P. agardhii, at least for several weeks, which raises questions concerning the persistence of harmful cyanobacteria in shallow water systems more exposed to evaporation and consequently to an increase in salinity in the future, as predicted by various climate models.
