Journal ArticleDOI

Xylanolytic enzyme systems in Arthrobacter sp. MTCC 5214 and Lactobacillus sp.

TL;DR: Elution profile as well as zymogram analysis indicated the possibility of bifunctional α‐l‐AFase–Axes in both marine bacteria, which can give insights into regulatory mechanism in these marine bacteria.
Posted ContentDOI

Metabolic cooperation among commensal bacteria supports Drosophila juvenile growth under nutritional stress

TL;DR: Using Drosophila as a host model, it is reported that two of its major bacterial partners, Lactobacillus plantarum and Acetobacter pomorum engage in a beneficial metabolic dialogue that boosts host juvenile growth despite nutritional stress.
Journal ArticleDOI

Adaptivity of Archaeal and Bacterial Extremophiles

TL;DR: Psychrophilic heterotrophic bacteria respond to sublethal temperature decrease by increased conformational flexibility of the macromolecules and elevated content of unsaturated fatty acids in the composition of their membrane lipids, which increase the growth rate.
Journal ArticleDOI

A selected bacterial strain for the self-healing process in cementitious specimens without cell immobilization steps.

TL;DR: It was found that the addition of glycerol to fermentative medium was essential to increase the bacterial concentration and production of the enzyme urease and promoted the self-healing of cracks and increased compressive strength in ≈ 14.2% of the cementitious specimens; therefore, increasing the sustainability and engineering properties of cement-based materials.

Uji biokimiawi sistem API 20 A mendeteksi Porphyromonas gingivalis isolat klinik dari plak subgingiva pasien periodontitis kronis

TL;DR: The API 20A appears to be a promising method for identification of P. gingivalis clinical isolate, which will advantage in research efforts aimed at developing oral intervention methods against this bacterial species, and thus for prevention and treatment of periodontal disease.
