Journal ArticleDOI

Spatial and temporal succession of bacterial communities in three artificial fishponds

TL;DR: The understanding of the assembly mechanisms of a microbial structure in artificial pond ecosystems is improved, and useful information for fishpond management is provided.
Journal ArticleDOI

Listeria seeligeri isolates from food processing environments form two phylogenetic lineages.

TL;DR: Seven different actA subtypes forming two phylogenetic lineages could be distinguished by sequencing the actA gene of Listeria seeligeri isolates from different habitats, and the presence of a serine protease gene resembling orf2110 of L. monocytogenes in some isolates supports the hypothesis that L. seeligersi is subject to ongoing adaptation to changing environments.

Species boundaries and molecular markers for the classification of 16SrI phytoplasmas inferred by genome analysis

TL;DR: This work examined 11 strains in the 16SrI group within the genus ‘Candidatus Phytoplasma’ and investigated the possible species boundaries, and developed five molecular markers that could be used for multilocus sequence analysis (MLSA).
Journal ArticleDOI

Characterization and comparative genomic analysis of virulent and temperate Bacillus megaterium bacteriophages.

TL;DR: Both genomic comparisons and phylogenetic analyses support the conclusion that the sequenced phages (BM5 and BM10) belong to different sub-clusters (L5 and L7, respectively), within the L-cluster, and display different lifestyles (lysogenic and lytic, respectively).
