Hydrogen production by newly isolated Clostridium species from cow rumen in pure- and co-cultures on a broad range of carbon sources

TL;DR: In this paper, three novel hydrogen-generating strains, ST1, ST4, and ST5, were isolated from the rumen of cow in Vietnam, and respectively identified as Clostridium beijerinckii ST 1, Clostidium bifermentans ST 4, and Clostidium butyricum ST 5, based on 16S rDNA gene sequence analysis and physiobiochemical characteristics.

Genome Scale Constraint-Based Metabolic Reconstruction of Propionibacterium Freudenreichii DSM 20271

TL;DR: A high-quality genome-scale metabolic model of P. freudenreichii strain DSM 20271 was developed based on the strain’s genome annotation and biochemical and physiological data, which provided novel insights into the complexity and robustness of B12 precursors and energy metabolism.
