TLDR
The results suggested that structural changes in the Fc portion of γE molecules initiate enzymatic sequences leading to the release of the chemical mediators in E myeloma protein PS.

Purification of immunoglobulin E (IgE) antibodies from sera with high IgE titers.

TL;DR: It is concluded that alpha hIg-MAbs are powerful tools to facilitate the affinity purification of functionally active human IgE from serum; however, when the analyte is present in low concentration, a carrier protein needs to be added to minimize non-specific loss of the material during this process.

Immunoglobulin E and Homocytotropic Properties

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors described the immunoglobulin E and homocytotropic properties and the minimal concentration of IgE antibody required for giving a positive P-K reaction.

Selective approaches to the isolation and standardization of allergens.

TL;DR: The clinical signs of type I allergic reactions seen in man and other animals, namely, local inflammation and swelling, mucous production, airways obstruc-tion, and shock are produced by release of granule-associated vasoactive media-tors such as histamine, slow-reacting substance of anaphylaxis, and other active components.

Differential reduction of the inter-chain disulfide bonds of rat immunoglobulin E: Relation to biological activity

TL;DR: Reduction of most or all the inter-chain disulfide bonds in rat as in human IgE, induces changes in quaternary structure, more especially in the relationship between the Fab and Fc parts of the molecule, leading to steric blockade, by Fab, of the binding sites for mast cells present on Fc.

Immunochemical quantitation of antigens by single radial immunodiffusion

TL;DR: By standardizing the technical conditions of the experiment it is possible to use this principle for the immunochemical determination of antigens, and the lower limit of the method was found to correspond to 0·0025 μg of antigen, and to an antigen concentrations of 1·25 μg per ml.

Estimation of the molecular weights of proteins by Sephadex gel-filtration.

P Andrews
- 01 May 1964 -
TL;DR: The results are similar to those of previous studies, where the objective was to establish a cause-and-effect relationship, rather than a straightforward relationship between the number of cells and the content of the molecule.
