TLDR
This Review describes the current knowledge of how geminiviruses interact with their plant hosts and the functional consequences of these interactions.Abstract:
The family Geminiviridae is one of the largest and most important families of plant viruses. The small, single-stranded DNA genomes of geminiviruses encode 5-7 proteins that redirect host machineries and processes to establish a productive infection. These interactions reprogramme plant cell cycle and transcriptional controls, inhibit cell death pathways, interfere with cell signalling and protein turnover, and suppress defence pathways. This Review describes our current knowledge of how geminiviruses interact with their plant hosts and the functional consequences of these interactions.read more

Virus-virus interactions alter the mechanical transmissibility and host range of begomoviruses
TL;DR: In this paper , the effects of virus-virus interactions on mechanical transmissibility of two mechanically transmissible begomoviruses, tomato leaf curl New Delhi virus-oriental melon isolate (ToLCNDV-OM) and tomato yellow leaf curl Thailand virus (TYLCTHV) were studied.

The transcriptional regulator JAZ8 interacts with the C2 protein from geminiviruses and limits the viral infection in Arabidopsis
Tábata Rosas-Díaz,Pepe Cana-Quijada,Mengshi Wu,Hui Du,Gemma Fernández-Barbero,Alberto P. Macho,Roberto Solano,Araceli G. Castillo,Xiao-Wei Wang,Rosa Lozano-Durán,Eduardo R. Bejarano +10 more
TL;DR: The results show that JAZ8 interacts with geminiviral C2 proteins and exerts an anti-geminaviral effect.
Trampas génicas como herramienta para identificar genes en plantas que responden a la infección por virus gene traps as a tool for identification of plant genes involved in viral infection response

Diversity and phylogeography of begomoviruses and DNA satellites associated with the leaf curl and mosaic disease complex of eggplant.
Venkataravanappa Venkataravanappa,K. V. Ashwathappa,Prasanna Kallingappa,P. Hemachandra Reddy,M. Krishna Reddy,C. N. Lakshminarayana Reddy +5 more
TL;DR: In this paper , a survey of 72 eggplant fields located in six different Indian states revealed a prevalence of disease ranging from 5.2 to 40.2%, and the symptoms recorded were mosaic, mottling, petiole bending, yellowing, and upward curling, vein thickening, and enation of the leaves, and stunting of plants.

Emerging Virus Diseases Transmitted by Whiteflies
TL;DR: Factors driving the emergence and establishment of whitefly-transmitted diseases include genetic changes in the virus through mutation and recombination, changes inThe vector populations coupled with polyphagy of the main vector, Bemisia tabaci, and long distance traffic of plant material or vector insects due to trade of vegetables and ornamental plants.
