Improvements to a MODIS global terrestrial evapotranspiration algorithm
TLDR
In this article, an improved version of the global evapotranspiration (ET) algorithm based on MODIS and global meteorology data has been proposed, which simplifies the calculation of vegetation cover fraction, calculating ET as the sum of daytime and nighttime components, adding soil heat flux calculation, improving estimates of stomatal conductance, aerodynamic resistance and boundary layer resistance, separating dry canopy surface from the wet and dividing soil surface into saturated wet surface and moist surface.About:

Integrated surface-subsurface model to investigate the role of groundwater in headwater catchment runoff generation: A minimalist approach to parameterisation
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used a fully integrated surface-subsurface hydrological simulator to enhance groundwater-related process understanding in a headwater catchment with a rich background in empirical data.

Modelling bulk surface resistance by MODIS data and assessment of MOD16A2 evapotranspiration product in an irrigation district of Southern Italy
TL;DR: In this article, an accurate estimate of daily actual evapotranspiration, ET a, was obtained based on the direct Penman-Monteith application, in which the bulk surface resistance term was computed by considering, as main input, daily remotely sensed Land Surface Temperature (LST).

Contributions of climate change and human activities to ET and GPP trends over North China Plain from 2000 to 2014
TL;DR: Wang et al. as mentioned in this paper quantified the contributions of climate change and human activities to ecosystem evapotranspiration (ET) and gross primary productivity (GPP) changes over North China Plain (NCP) with a physical and remote sensing-based model.

Process-based characterization of evapotranspiration sources over the North American monsoon region
TL;DR: In this article, the spatiotemporal variations of evapotranspiration were quantified using the Variable Infiltration Capacity (VIC) model, modified to account for soil evaporation (Esoil), irrigated agriculture, and the variability of land surface properties derived from the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer during 2000-2012.

C. H. B. Priestley,R. J. Taylor +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, the large-scale parameterization of the surface fluxes of sensible and latent heat is properly expressed in terms of energetic considerations over land while formulas of the bulk aerodynamic type are most suitahle over the sea.

Summarizing multiple aspects of model performance in a single diagram
TL;DR: In this article, a diagram has been devised that can provide a concise statistical summary of how well patterns match each other in terms of their correlation, their root-mean-square difference, and the ratio of their variances.
