Cannabinoid interactions with ion channels and receptors.

TL;DR: This review will outline the studies that report reproducible results of CBD and other cannabinoids changing membrane channel function, with particular interest on voltage-gated sodium channel (Nav), which is implicated in fatal forms of epilepsy and are also associated with chronic pain.

Opportunities for cannabis in supportive care in cancer.

TL;DR: There is a reasonable amount of evidence to consider cannabis for nausea and vomiting, loss of appetite, and pain as a supplement to first-line treatments, and promising evidence to treat chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy, gastrointestinal distress, and sleep disorders, but the literature is thus far too limited to recommend cannabis for these symptoms.

Gender differences among treatment-seeking adults with cannabis use disorder: Clinical profiles of women and men enrolled in the achieving cannabis cessation-evaluating N-acetylcysteine treatment (ACCENT) study.

TL;DR: Cannabis-dependent women may benefit from integrated treatment focusing on co-occurring psychiatric disorders and targeted treatment of cannabis withdrawal syndrome, and may help explain recent evidence suggesting that women fare worse than men in cannabis treatment trials of pharmacologic interventions.

Opioid and cannabinoid synergy in a mouse neuropathic pain model.

TL;DR: The effect of combination treatment with cannabinoid and opioid receptor agonists on allodynia and side effects in a nerve injury‐induced neuropathic pain model is examined.

Clinical importance of changes in chronic pain intensity measured on an 11-point numerical pain rating scale

TL;DR: Using a standard outcome across chronic pain studies would greatly enhance the comparability, validity, and clinical applicability of these studies, and the application of these results to future studies may provide a standard definition of clinically important improvement in clinical trials of chronic pain therapies.
