Metal–organic framework technologies for water remediation: towards a sustainable ecosystem

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors have focused their attention on critically highlighting the latest developments achieved in the adsorptive removal of inorganic metal cations, inorganic acids, oxyanions/cations, nuclear wastes and other inorganic anions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Ultrafast and Efficient Extraction of Uranium from Seawater Using an Amidoxime Appended Metal-Organic Framework.

TL;DR: The origin for the superior sorption capability was probed by extended X-ray absorption fine structure (EXAFS) analysis on the uranium-sorbed sample, suggesting multiple amidoxime ligands are able to chelate uranyl(VI) ions, forming a hexagonal bipyramid coordination geometry.
Journal ArticleDOI

Rational design, synthesis, adsorption principles and applications of metal oxide adsorbents: a review.

TL;DR: The basic principles of the adsorption process will be elucidated, including affecting factors, evaluation index, adsorbent mechanisms, and common kinetic and isotherm models, and key parameters affecting the Adsorption performance will be discussed.

Adsorptive characteristics of phosphate from aqueous solutions by MIEX resin.

TL;DR: The results showed that the adsorption process was spontaneous thermodynamically, endothermic, and entropy driven and established a good potentiality for MIEX resin to be used as an adsorbent for the removal of phosphate from aqueous solutions.

Perchlorate removal by quaternary amine modified reed.

TL;DR: Zeta potential measurements showed that reed modification enhanced perchlorate removal by increasing the surface potential, and kinetic results fit well with a pseudo second-order equation.

Practical Wastewater Treatment

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a model for the biological treatment of water in order to determine normal and slowly varying flows in a stream. But the model is not suitable for the measurement of water quality.
Journal ArticleDOI

Adsorption of perchlorate from aqueous solution by the calcination product of Mg/(Al-Fe) hydrotalcite-like compounds.

TL;DR: It was found that the existence of ferric iron in calcined Mg/(Al-Fe) hydrotalcite compound (CHMAF) was favorable to removal of perchlorate from water, and the best ratio of Mg/Al/Fe is 3.8:0.2 ( CHMAF5%).

A luminescent Terbium-Succinate MOF thin film fabricated by electrodeposition for sensing of Cu2+ in aqueous environment

TL;DR: In this article, a luminescent lanthanide metal-organic framework (Ln-MOF) thin film of Terbium-Succinate (Tb-SA) was fabricated via one-step electrodeposited onto fluorine-doped tin oxide (FTO) conductive glass under mild condition.
