TLDR
Recently, significant advances have been made in elucidating the details of the pathways through which signals are transmitted to the NF-kappa B:I kappa B complex in the cytosol and their implications for the study of NF-Kappa B.Abstract:
▪ Abstract The transcription factor NF-κB, more than a decade after its discovery, remains an exciting and active area of study. The involvement of NF-κB in the expression of numerous cytokines and adhesion molecules has supported its role as an evolutionarily conserved coordinating element in the organism's response to situations of infection, stress, and injury. Recently, significant advances have been made in elucidating the details of the pathways through which signals are transmitted to the NF-κB:IκB complex in the cytosol. The field now awaits the discovery and characterization of the kinase responsible for the inducible phosphorylation of IκB proteins. Another exciting development has been the demonstration that in certain situations NF-κB acts as an anti-apoptotic protein; therefore, elucidation of the mechanism by which NF-κB protects against cell death is an important goal. Finally, the generation of knockouts of members of the NF-κB/IκB family has allowed the study of the roles of these protein...read more

Isolation of a novel interleukin-1-inducible nuclear protein bearing ankyrin-repeat motifs.
TL;DR: Immunoblots with anti-INAP-specific antibody and Immunofluorescence stainings showed that the INAP newly synthesized by IL-1 stimulation was promptly translocated into the nucleus, and FLAG-tagged INAP forcibly expressed in NIH/3T3 cells was also specifically localized in the nucleus.

TL;DR: Novel evidence is provided for NF-κB/p65 nuclear translocation in the transition from PIN to prostate cancer and it is indicated that nuclear localisation of NF-σB is an independent prognostic factor of biochemical relapse in prostate cancer.

Breast Cancer Metastasis Suppressor 1 Functions as a Corepressor by Enhancing Histone Deacetylase 1-Mediated Deacetylation of RelA/p65 and Promoting Apoptosis
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that BRMS1 decreases the transactivation potential of RelA/p65 and ameliorates the expression of NF-κB-regulated antiapoptotic gene products and suggests that BR MS1 suppresses metastasis through its ability to function as a transcriptional corepressor of antiap optotic genes regulated by NF-σκB.
