TLDR
This updated Test Guideline 430 provides an in vitro procedure allowing the identification of non-corrosive and corrosive substances and mixtures in accordance with UN GHS.
Abstract
Other methods and guidelines not included in this publication may be judged to be appropriate in testing chemicals in certain scientifi c, legal, and administrative contexts. The OECD Council Decision on Mutual Acceptance of Data (12th May 1981; C[81]30) affi rms that data generated in one country in accordance with the OECD Test Guidelines – and additionally in accordance with the OECD Principles of Good Laboratory Practice – should be accepted in OECD countries for purposes of assessment and other uses relating to protection of man and the environment. The full text of this Decision and the OECD Principles of Good Laboratory Practice may be found in the Appendix to the OECD Guidelines for Testing of Chemicals.

Acute toxicity and biodistribution of different sized titanium dioxide particles in mice after oral administration.

TL;DR: Biodistribution experiment showed that TiO(2) mainly retained in the liver, spleen, kidneys, and lung tissues, which indicated thatTiO( 2) particles could be transported to other tissues and organs after uptake by gastrointestinal tract.

Using poultry litter biochars as soil amendments

TL;DR: In this paper, two biochar types produced from poultry litter under different pyrolysis conditions were tested in a pot trial by assessing the yield of radish (Raphanus sativus var Long Scarlet) as well as the soil quality of a hard-setting Chromosol (Alfisol).
Journal ArticleDOI

Environmental metabolomics: a critical review and future perspectives

TL;DR: This review provides a comprehensive and current overview of environmental metabolomics research, and critically evaluates the contribution that metabolomics has made to the environmental sciences, and highlights and discusses recommendations to advance the understanding of the environment, ecology and evolution using a metabolomics approach.
Journal ArticleDOI

Acute toxicological impact of nano- and submicro-scaled zinc oxide powder on healthy adult mice

TL;DR: The pathological examination showed that the liver, spleen, heart, pancreas and bone are the target organs for 20- and 120-nm ZnO oral exposure, and the results of blood measurement suggest that the increase in blood viscosity could be induced by low and median dose of 20-nmZnO but high dose of 120- nm ZNO.
Journal ArticleDOI

Tissue distribution and toxicity of intravenously administered titanium dioxide nanoparticles in rats.

TL;DR: Tissue distribution and toxicity of intravenously administered nanoparticles of titanium dioxide (TiO2) showed expected tissue distribution, no obvious toxic health effects, no immune response, and no change in organ function indicate that TiO2 nanoparticles could be used safely in low doses.

Rapid colorimetric assay for cellular growth and survival: Application to proliferation and cytotoxicity assays

TL;DR: A tetrazolium salt has been used to develop a quantitative colorimetric assay for mammalian cell survival and proliferation and is used to measure proliferative lymphokines, mitogen stimulations and complement-mediated lysis.
Journal ArticleDOI

Stages of embryonic development of the zebrafish.

TL;DR: A series of stages for development of the embryo of the zebrafish, Danio (Brachydanio) rerio is described, providing for flexibility and continued evolution of the staging series as the authors learn more about development in this species.

Modern Molecular Photochemistry

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors bring students up to date with the advances in this field -the development of the theory of photoreactions, the utilization of photoresceptors in synthetic sequences, and the advancement of powerful laser techniques to study the mechanisms of the photoreaction.

Oecd guideline for testing of chemicals

TL;DR: The comet assay has been reviewed and recommendations have been published by various expert groups and this Test Guideline provides succinct and useful guidance to users of these Test Guidelines.
