Rhizosphere microbiome metagenomics of gray mangroves (Avicennia marina) in the Red Sea.

TLDR
This is the first metagenomic study on the microbiome of mangroves in the Red Sea, and the first application of unbiased 454-pyrosequencing to study the rhizosphere microbiome associated with Avicennia marina, providing the first insights into the range of functions and microbial diversity in the Rhizosphere and soil sediments of gray mangrove (A. marina) in theRed Sea.

The rhizosphere microbiome: Significance in rhizoremediation of polyaromatic hydrocarbon contaminated soil

TL;DR: This review summarizes recent knowledge of PAH degradation in the rhizosphere in the process of plant-microbiome interactions based on emerging omics approaches such as metagenomics, metatranscriptomics, metabolomics and metaproteomics and insight into the biochemical and molecular modification of the meta-organisms to maximize rhizoremediation activity.

Soil and Rhizosphere Associated Fungi in Gray Mangroves (Avicennia marina) from the Red Sea--A Metagenomic Approach.

TL;DR: This study analyzed metagenomic datasets from gray mangrove rhizosphere and bulk soil samples collected in the Red Sea coast to obtain a snapshot of their fungal communities, and indicates the presence of several species on this mycobiome that were not previously reported as mangroves-associated.

Bacterial Abilities and Adaptation Toward the Rhizosphere Colonization

TL;DR: This study identified major bacterial groups and their potential abilities to occupy the sugarcane rhizosphere, and indicated that polygalacturonase activity and HGT events may be important features for Rhizosphere colonization.

A globally coherent fingerprint of climate change impacts across natural systems

TL;DR: A diagnostic fingerprint of temporal and spatial ‘sign-switching’ responses uniquely predicted by twentieth century climate trends is defined and generates ‘very high confidence’ (as laid down by the IPCC) that climate change is already affecting living systems.

Determination of carbonate and organic matter in calcareous sediments and sedimentary rocks by loss on ignition; comparison with other methods

TL;DR: In this article, a modified ignition loss method is described for determining organic and carbonate carbon in calcareous sedimentary materials using equipment found in most laboratories and has been found to equal or excel the accuracy and precision of other methods tested and has the advantage of being considerably faster if large numbers of samples are to be analyzed.
