TL;DR: In this paper, the invariance hypothesis was tested by measuring the relationship between sex and social dominance orientation (SDO) while controlling for the effects of gender socialization, and the results suggest that the status hierarchy based on gender has properties of arbitrary classifications such as race, and they call into question the classification of gender as invariant within SDT.

TL;DR: Investigating the associations between narcissistic and non–narcissistic self–evaluations, social dominance orientation (SDO), right–wing authoritarianism (RWA), and ethnic prejudice consistently showed that after controlling for self–esteem, narcissistic self-evaluation was positively associated with SDO (accounting for RWA), yet negatively associated with RWA ( accounts for SDO).
