TLDR
Method has been applied to a study of hydroxyproline distribution in cell particulates, tissue fluids, and purified plant and animal proteins, and significant amounts of hydroXYproline were found in crystalline preparations of pepsin, elastase.

Inductive, scaffold-based, regenerative medicine approach to reconstruction of the temporomandibular joint disk.

TL;DR: It is suggested that an ECM-based bioscaffold could represent an off-the-shelf solution for TMJ disk replacement and prevent gross degenerative changes in the temporal fossa and mandibular condyle.

Modulation by propranolol of the lysyl cross-links in aortic elastin and collagen of the aneurysm-prone turkey

TL;DR: Propranolol effects on the lysyl cross-links were demonstrated in both the immature and mature animals and suggest a heretofore unrecognized potential for this widely used cardiovascular drug.

Stabilization of type I collagen using dialdehyde cellulose

TL;DR: In this paper, a rat tail tendon (RTT) fibres was crosslinked with dialdehyde cellulose (DAC) to bring about stabilization of the matrix, which resulted in an increase in denaturation peak temperature (T D ) and phase change of activation energy (E a ) and enthalpy change (Δ H ) indicating intermolecular crosslinking arising from covalent interactions.

Loss of Colonic Structural Collagen Impairs Healing During Intra-abdominal Sepsis

TL;DR: Sepsis impairs healing of the colon, reflected by decreased bursting pressure and collagen concentration, and the decrease in bowel wall structural collagen may affect the ability of the gut to hold sutures and thus may lead to more anastomotic failure.

The determination of hydroxyproline.

TL;DR: A short and simple calorimetric method is here described that is applicable to the determination of hydroxyproline in hydrolysates of 40 to 100 y of collagen with a reproducibility of f2 per cent and an accuracy of f1 per cent as judged by recovery of hydroXYproline from elastin hydrolysate and from an amino acid mixture simulating collagen.

Formation of collagen hydroxyproline in vitro

TL;DR: Stetten (1949) suggested that free hydroxyproline was not an intermediate in collagen biosynthesis and that hydroxylation of the proline residues occurred at the protein or peptide stage.
