TLDR
Method has been applied to a study of hydroxyproline distribution in cell particulates, tissue fluids, and purified plant and animal proteins, and significant amounts of hydroXYproline were found in crystalline preparations of pepsin, elastase.

A Histological and Biochemical Assessment of the Cartilage Matrix Obtained from in Vitro Storage of Osteochondral Allografts

TL;DR: Cell viability, i.e., the ability of the allograft tissue to incorporate 35SO4 in the synthesis of glycosaminoglycans, was intact up to 28 days of storage and collagen content showed no difference at the 95% level of confidence when compared to the 0 day control cartilage.

Propranolol improves cutaneous wound healing in streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats.

TL;DR: Propranolol administration improves cutaneous wound healing of hyperglycemic diabetic rats by reducing the local inflammatory response and improving subsequent phases of the repair process.

Skin collagen changes in post-menopausal women receiving oestradiol gel

TL;DR: Sixteen post-menopausal women who had never previously received any hormonal treatment applied Oestrogel cream 1.5 mg/day percutaneously for 1 yr showed a strong correlation between the change in skin collagen content (in both the abdomen and the thigh) and the originalskin collagen content, indicating that thechange in collagen content in response to oestrogen therapy is dependent on the original level.

Bleomycin-induced pulmonary fibrosis: correlation of biochemical, physiological, and histological changes.

TL;DR: Lung damage was evaluated using a variety of indices, including body weight, right apical lung lobe wet weight, protein- and collagen-synthesis rates by lung minces, lung hydroxyproline content, lung compliance, and lung histology, and biochemical assays did not correlate with physiological changes 5 and 8 weeks after instillation.

The determination of hydroxyproline.

TL;DR: A short and simple calorimetric method is here described that is applicable to the determination of hydroxyproline in hydrolysates of 40 to 100 y of collagen with a reproducibility of f2 per cent and an accuracy of f1 per cent as judged by recovery of hydroXYproline from elastin hydrolysate and from an amino acid mixture simulating collagen.

Formation of collagen hydroxyproline in vitro

TL;DR: Stetten (1949) suggested that free hydroxyproline was not an intermediate in collagen biosynthesis and that hydroxylation of the proline residues occurred at the protein or peptide stage.
