TLDR
Method has been applied to a study of hydroxyproline distribution in cell particulates, tissue fluids, and purified plant and animal proteins, and significant amounts of hydroXYproline were found in crystalline preparations of pepsin, elastase.

Application of a PDGF-containing novel gel for cutaneous wound healing.

TL;DR: It is revealed that the monomeric nature of biological molecules in association with PDGF exerted simultaneous biomimetic and chemotactic effects and promoted wound healing.
Journal ArticleDOI

Development of reduced graphene oxide (rGO)-isabgol nanocomposite dressings for enhanced vascularization and accelerated wound healing in normal and diabetic rats.

TL;DR: Investigation showed that Isab’s+ rGO scaffold dressing could significantly accelerate the healing of normal and diabetic wounds and played a major role in shortening the inflammation phase and recruiting macrophages to enhance the early phase of wound healing.

Dermal Collagen and Lipid Deposition Correlate with Tissue Swelling and Hydraulic Conductivity in Murine Primary Lymphedema

TL;DR: It is suggested that lymphedema associated with increased collagen and lipid accumulation counteracts an increased hydraulic conductivity associated with dermal swelling, which in turn further limits interstitial transport and swelling.

“Milwaukee shoulder”—association of microspheroids containing hydroxyapatite crystals, active collagenase, and neutral protease with rotator cuff defects. iii. morphologic and biochemical studies of an excised synovium showing chondromatosis

TL;DR: Electronmicroscopy revealed calcific foci in microvilli which could easily escape into the adjacent joint space through areas denuded of synovial cells, and energy dispersive analysis showed elemental ratios consistent with hydroxyapatite.

Quantitative study of sodium hypochlorite as an in vitro endodontic irrigant

TL;DR: Solutions of sodium hypochlorite were tested as root canal irrigants in single-rooted human teeth and the measure of effectiveness used was the hydroxyproline content of the irrigant, which reflects the amount of collagen-containing tissues dissolved.

The determination of hydroxyproline.

TL;DR: A short and simple calorimetric method is here described that is applicable to the determination of hydroxyproline in hydrolysates of 40 to 100 y of collagen with a reproducibility of f2 per cent and an accuracy of f1 per cent as judged by recovery of hydroXYproline from elastin hydrolysate and from an amino acid mixture simulating collagen.
Journal ArticleDOI

Formation of collagen hydroxyproline in vitro

TL;DR: Stetten (1949) suggested that free hydroxyproline was not an intermediate in collagen biosynthesis and that hydroxylation of the proline residues occurred at the protein or peptide stage.
