A comparative study of the effect of ultrasound and electrostimulation on wound healing in rats.
Işik Taşkan,İrfan Özyazgan,Mustafa Tercan,H. Kardaş,Süleyman Balkanli,Recep Saraymen,Ümran Zorlu,Yavuz Özügül +7 more
TL;DR: Electrical stimulation is a means of treatment superior to ultrasound in wound healing when the effects of electrical stimulation and ultrasound on wound healing with the methods employed in the study are considered.

Structure and conformation of intramolecularly cross-linked collagen.
R. Usha,Thirumalachari Ramasami +1 more
TL;DR: The small amount of aldehydes are needed to induce changes in the conformational stability of collagen and the change in the molar ellipticity and Rpn ratio suggest possible aggregation of collagen molecule.

The effect of nerve growth factor on the early responses during the process of wound healing.
TL;DR: Results clearly indicate that the topical application of NGF-incorporated collagen enhanced the rate of healing of excision wounds and required shorter duration for the healing with an increased rate of wound contraction.

The determination of hydroxyproline.
Robert E. Neuman,Milan A. Logan +1 more
TL;DR: A short and simple calorimetric method is here described that is applicable to the determination of hydroxyproline in hydrolysates of 40 to 100 y of collagen with a reproducibility of f2 per cent and an accuracy of f1 per cent as judged by recovery of hydroXYproline from elastin hydrolysate and from an amino acid mixture simulating collagen.

TL;DR: Stetten (1949) suggested that free hydroxyproline was not an intermediate in collagen biosynthesis and that hydroxylation of the proline residues occurred at the protein or peptide stage.
