Effect of proteoglycan depletion on T2 mapping in rat patellar cartilage.

TL;DR: In rat patellar cartilage, T2 mapping permits detection of slight or severe proteoglycan depletion and concurrent changes of extracellular matrix when age-matched samples are compared.

Greener approach to leather tanning process: d-Lysine aldehyde as novel tanning agent for chrome-free tanning

TL;DR: In this paper, a greener and eco-friendly method to leather tanning process has been developed in the present investigation, which is based on d-Lysine aldehyde complex.

Wound healing and T-lymphocytes.

TL;DR: Combined anti-T-helper/effector and T-suppressor/cytotoxic depletion resulted in improved wound-healing parameters, which suggests that there is a Thy-1.2+, L3T4-, Lyt2- subpopulation of T lymphocytes which normally stimulates wound healing.

Pekin duckling and broiler chicken Pectoralis muscle structure and composition

TL;DR: A series of experiments was conducted to determine muscle fiber type, area, and distribution, and muscle total collagen, color, proximate composition, total fatty acid profile, calories, and cholesterol content for Pekin duckling and broiler chicken Pectoralis muscle.

The determination of hydroxyproline.

TL;DR: A short and simple calorimetric method is here described that is applicable to the determination of hydroxyproline in hydrolysates of 40 to 100 y of collagen with a reproducibility of f2 per cent and an accuracy of f1 per cent as judged by recovery of hydroXYproline from elastin hydrolysate and from an amino acid mixture simulating collagen.

Formation of collagen hydroxyproline in vitro

TL;DR: Stetten (1949) suggested that free hydroxyproline was not an intermediate in collagen biosynthesis and that hydroxylation of the proline residues occurred at the protein or peptide stage.
