Modelling of crystal structure of cis-1,2,3,6 and 3,4,5,6-tetrahydrophthalic anhydrides using lattice energy calculations.

TL;DR: The results of phonon estimates of zero point intermolecular vibrational energy and entropy suggest that crystal structures of cis-1,2,3,6-THP anhydride cannot be predicted solely on the basis of lattice energy; factors other than thermodynamics favor the observed structures.

A dynamically refocusable sampling infrastructure for 802.11 networks

TL;DR: A monitoring infrastructure is built that captures frames from the 802.11 network that needs to modify its behavior according to feedback received from the downstream consumers of the captured traffic in case the analysis needs traffic of a certain type.
Journal ArticleDOI

Probabilistic demographic forecasts for metropolises of ukraine

TL;DR: In this article, the authors developed probabilistic demographic forecasts for the metropolises of Ukraine and analyzed the outcome results using the functional data approach which incorporates wide set of demographical methods and models implemented in several packages of R programming language.
Journal ArticleDOI

Aspects of economic activity in Phoenicia during Roman and Byzantine times. The case of olive oil and amphora production in Chhim, in the chora of Sidon

TL;DR: Using archaeological data from two closely located sites within the Sidon chora, Chhim and Jiyeh, this article considered possible oil distribution routes in Phoenicia in the Roman-Byzantine period, t...

Impact Evaluation of a Conditional Cash Transfer Program: The Nicaraguan Red de Proteccion Social

TL;DR: The impact evaluation of a conditional cash transfer program was performed by the Nicaraguan Red de Proteccion Social (RPS) as discussed by the authors, which evaluated the effectiveness of the program.
Journal ArticleDOI

The Case for Randomized Field Trials in Economic and Policy Research

TL;DR: The advantages and disadvantages of experiments in comparison with other research techniques are examined and the circumstances where randomized trials should be preferred over other methods are described.

An evaluation of the impact of progresa on pre-school child height

TL;DR: One of the major components of the PROGRESA program has been directed toward improving the nutritional status of small children in poor rural communities in Mexico as mentioned in this paper, which has been shown to have a substantial effect on lifetime productivities and earnings of currently small children.
Posted ContentDOI

Progressing through progresa: an impact assessment of a school subsidy experiment

TL;DR: The authors used a Markov schooling transition model applied to the experimental data to assess the impact of the educational subsidy program along several dimensions, including effects on initial ages of school entry, dropout rates, grade repetition rates, and school reentry rates.
