Rate constant and branching fraction for the NH2 + NO2 reaction.

TL;DR: High- and low-pressure limit rate coefficients for the various product channels of NH2 + NO2 are determined from the ab initio TST-based master equation calculations for the temperature range 300-2000 K and the theoretical predictions are in good agreement with the measured overall rate constant.

Sustaining Urban Agriculture Requires the Involvement of Multiple Stakeholders 1

TL;DR: The concept of urban agriculture is a dynamic concept that comprises a variety of production (ranging from subsistence production at household level to fully commercialised agriculture), processing and marketing systems of food and non-food products.
Journal ArticleDOI

A Conceptual Model for Knowledge Integration in Process Planning

TL;DR: A conceptual model for sharing and integration of knowledge in process planning is introduced, e.g., an adaptation of the MOKA method extended with learning capabilities combined with process related data and information.
Journal ArticleDOI

Modelling diameter distributions of two-cohort forest stands with various proportions of dominant species: a two-component mixture model approach.

TL;DR: Two-component mixtures of either the Weibull distribution or the gamma distribution were used for describing theDBH distributions of mixed-species, two-cohort forest stands, to analyse the relationships between the DBH components, age cohorts and dominant species, and to assess the significance of differences between the mixture distributions and the kernel density estimates.
Journal ArticleDOI

Physicochemical composition of wastes and co-located environmental designations at legacy mine sites in the south west of England and Wales: Implications for their resource potential

TL;DR: In this article, the authors examined the potential for resource recovery and/or remediation of metalliferous mine wastes in the south west of England and Wales through an assessment of the physicochemical composition and co-location with cultural, geological and ecological designations.

Impact Evaluation of a Conditional Cash Transfer Program: The Nicaraguan Red de Proteccion Social

TL;DR: The impact evaluation of a conditional cash transfer program was performed by the Nicaraguan Red de Proteccion Social (RPS) as discussed by the authors, which evaluated the effectiveness of the program.
Journal ArticleDOI

The Case for Randomized Field Trials in Economic and Policy Research

TL;DR: The advantages and disadvantages of experiments in comparison with other research techniques are examined and the circumstances where randomized trials should be preferred over other methods are described.

An evaluation of the impact of progresa on pre-school child height

TL;DR: One of the major components of the PROGRESA program has been directed toward improving the nutritional status of small children in poor rural communities in Mexico as mentioned in this paper, which has been shown to have a substantial effect on lifetime productivities and earnings of currently small children.
Posted ContentDOI

Progressing through progresa: an impact assessment of a school subsidy experiment

TL;DR: The authors used a Markov schooling transition model applied to the experimental data to assess the impact of the educational subsidy program along several dimensions, including effects on initial ages of school entry, dropout rates, grade repetition rates, and school reentry rates.

A New Approach to Social Assistance: Latin America’s Experience with Conditional Cash Transfer Programs

TL;DR: Conditional cash transfer as discussed by the authors is a departure from more traditional approaches to social assistance, that represents an innovative, and increasingly popular channel for the delivery of social services that represents a demand-side complement to the supply of health, and education services.
