ALK expression in extranodal anaplastic large cell lymphoma favours systemic disease with (primary) nodal involvement and a good prognosis and occurs before dissemination
Rosita L. ten Berge,Joost J. Oudejans,Gert-Jan Ossenkoppele,Karen Pulford,Rein Willemze,Brunangelo Falini,Andreas Chott,Chris J.L.M. Meijer +7 more
TL;DR: If present, ALK expression favours systemic ALCL with (primary) nodal involvement, and can be used in differentiating between extranodal involvement of systemic (nodal) ALCL and primary extranODal ALCL.
Journal ArticleDOI
Comparison of Three Commercially Available Peptide-Based Immunoglobulin G (IgG) and IgA Assays to Microimmunofluorescence Assay for Detection of Chlamydia trachomatis Antibodies
Servaas A. Morré,Christian Munk,Kenneth Persson,Susanne Krüger-Kjaer,Rogier van Dijk,Chris J.L.M. Meijer,Adriaan J. C. van den Brule +6 more
TL;DR: These peptide-based ELISA systems for the serological detection of C. trachomatis infection performed as well as the “gold standard” assay, the microimmunofluorescence (MIF) assay, and might be useful in the serodiagnosis of chlamydial infection.
Journal ArticleDOI
Analysis of human papillomavirus type 16 E6 variants in relation to p53 codon 72 polymorphism genotypes in cervical carcinogenesis.
Mark van Duin,Peter J.F. Snijders,Mireille T. M. Vossen,Erik Klaassen,Feja J. Voorhorst,René H.M. Verheijen,Theo J.M. Helmerhorst,Chris J.L.M. Meijer,Jan M. M. Walboomers +8 more
TL;DR: Neither specific HPV-16 350G/T variants nor specific p53 genotypes were associated with a higher risk of developing CIN III or cervical cancer, however, HPV- 16 350T variants were significantly over-represented in p53 Arg homozygous women with cervical cancer.
Journal ArticleDOI
Human papillomavirus type 16 E6/E7-specific cytotoxic T lymphocytes in women with cervical neoplasia
Hetty J. Bontkes,Tanja D. de Gruijl,Adrie J.C. van den Muysenberg,René H.M. Verheijen,Marij J. Stukart,Chris J.L.M. Meijer,Rik J. Scheper,Simon N. Stacey,Margaret F. Duggan-Keen,Peter L. Stern,Stephen Man,Leszek K. Borysiewicz,Jan M. M. Walboomers +12 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that HPV 16 oncogene‐specific mCTLp are present in women with HPV 16‐positive CIN prior to any intervention, and the role of naturally occurring m CTLp in the protection against HPV‐associated cervical neoplasia remains to be established.
Journal ArticleDOI
NADPH oxidase(s): new source(s) of reactive oxygen species in the vascular system?
TL;DR: The detection of the different components of NADP oxidase in the vascular system, together with the putative role of reactive oxygen species produced by vascular NADPH oxidase(s), in both in vitro and in vivo studies are discussed.
