Genome-wide microRNA analysis of HPV-positive self-samples yields novel triage markers for early detection of cervical cancer.
Barbara C. Snoek,Wina Verlaat,Iris Babion,Putri W. Novianti,Mark A. van de Wiel,Saskia M. Wilting,Saskia M. Wilting,Nienke E. van Trommel,Maaike C G Bleeker,Leon F.A.G. Massuger,Willem J. G. Melchers,Daoud Sie,Daniëlle A M Heideman,Peter J.F. Snijders,Chris J.L.M. Meijer,Renske D.M. Steenbergen +15 more
TL;DR: This study is the first to establish genome‐wide miRNA profiles in HPV‐positive self‐samples to identify miRNAs that can predict the presence of CIN3 and cervical cancer in self-samples and indicates that miRNA expression analysis offers a promising novel molecular triage strategy for CIN 3 and cervicalcancer detection applicable to self‐Samples.
Journal ArticleDOI
Post-treatment CIN: randomised clinical trial using hrHPV testing for prediction of residual/recurrent disease
Aagje G. Bais,Marinus J.C. Eijkemans,Mateja Rebolj,Peter J.F. Snijders,René H.M. Verheijen,Marjolein van Ballegooijen,Chris J.L.M. Meijer,Theo J.M. Helmerhorst +7 more
TL;DR: Follow‐up after treatment for high‐grade CIN can be improved by combining cytology with hrHPV testing, and total health‐care costs using cytology and hr HPV testing during follow‐up decreased when low‐risk women omit the 12 months visit.
Journal ArticleDOI
Epstein-Barr virus is present in neoplastic cytotoxic T cells in extranodal, and predominantly in B cells in nodal T non-Hodgkin lymphomas.
Antoinette A. T. P. Brink,Rosita L. ten Berge,Adriaan J. C. van den Brule,Rein Willemze,Andreas Chott,Chris J.L.M. Meijer +5 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that neoplastic cells of EBV‐positive extranodal T‐NHLs always have a cytotoxic phenotype, supporting the view that EBV can infect CTLs.
Journal ArticleDOI
Is Chlamydia pneumoniae present in the central nervous system of multiple sclerosis patients
Servaas A. Morré,Corline J.A. De Groot,Joep Killestein,Chris J.L.M. Meijer,Chris H. Polman,Paul van der Valk,Adriaan J. C. van den Brule +6 more
Journal ArticleDOI
T cell infiltration and MHC I and II expression in the presence of tumor antigens : An immunohistochemical study in patients with serous epithelial ovarian cancer
Hans W. Nijman,Paul J. van Diest,Ria J.J. Poort-Keesom,Silvia von Mensdorff-Pouilly,Rob A. Verstraeten,Alain Kummer,Chris J.L.M. Meijer,Cornelis J. M. Melief,Jo Hilgers,Peter Kenemans +9 more
TL;DR: It is found that granzyme-B, TIA-1 and CD45RO+ T cells are present in the tumor biopsies, increasing this number by immunotherapy may be beneficial, and the immune escape mechanism by MHC class I and beta2m downregulation seems to be of minor importance.
