Redefine Statistical Significance

TL;DR: This article proposed to change the default P-value threshold for statistical significance for claims of new discoveries from 0.05 to 0.005, which is the threshold used in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI

A James-Stein Type Estimator for Combining Unbiased and Possibly Biased Estimators

TL;DR: In this article, the authors presented a method for combining unbiased sample data with possibly biased auxiliary information, which is similar in spirit to the James-Stein estimator, and proved that the estimator dominates the sample mean under quadratic loss.
Journal ArticleDOI

Population density influences assessment and application of site index

TL;DR: A strong, highly significant negative correlation was found between dominant height and initial planting density for stands 14 and 16 years of age, which leads to large differences in predicted site index for stands with different initial planting densities planted at the same geographic location.
