Extrinsic Sources of Scatter in the Richness-Mass Relation of Galaxy Clusters

TL;DR: In this article, the authors use Monte Carlo simulations to study the impact of various sources of observational scatter on the richness-mass relation of galaxy clusters and demonstrate that variations in cluster environments can rarely (approximately 1% - 5% of the time) result in significant richness boosts.
Journal ArticleDOI

Assessment of Systematic Chromatic Errors that Impact Sub-1% Photometric Precision in Large-Area Sky Surveys

Tenglin Li, +82 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors examined the systematic chromatic errors caused by the change of airmass in each exposure, the precipitable water vapor and aerosol in the atmosphere over time, and the non-uniformity of instrumental throughput over the focal plane.

The DESI Experiment Part I: Science,Targeting, and Survey Design

Amir Aghamousa, +293 more
TL;DR: DESI as discussed by the authors is a ground-based dark energy experiment that will study baryon acoustic oscillations (BAO) and the growth of structure through redshift-space distortions with a wide-area galaxy and quasar redshift survey.

The mass and galaxy distribution around SZ-selected clusters

T. Shin, +165 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors measured the radial profiles of the mass and galaxy number density around Sunyaev-Zel'dovich-selected clusters using both weak lensing and galaxy counts.
