Journal ArticleDOI

Ketamine’s antidepressant effect is mediated by energy metabolism and antioxidant defense system

TL;DR: It is suggested that ketamine causes less protein damage by rapidly decreasing reactive oxygen species (ROS) production and lend further support to the hypothesis that mitochondria have a critical role for mediating antidepressant action including the rapid ketamine response.
Journal ArticleDOI

Insights into isoprene production using the cyanobacterium Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

TL;DR: This work reports on attempts to generate isoprene-producing strains of Synechocystis using a plasmid-based strategy and reveals the upregulation of mRNA and regulatory RNAs characteristic of acclimation to metabolic stress in cyanobacterial hosts.
