Dynamic Flow and Switching Bistability in Twisted Nematic Liquid Crystal Cells

TL;DR: In this article, the switching bistability of twisted nematic liquid crystal cells is investigated based on the interaction between dynamic flow and director rotation, and it is shown that there exists a general type of bistable twisted director configuration.
Journal ArticleDOI

Optical properties of copper phthalocyanine

TL;DR: In this paper, the optical functions of copper phthalocyanine (CuPc) have been determined using spectroscopic ellipsometry in the spectral range from 1.55 to 4.1 eV.
Journal ArticleDOI

Tunable lens by spatially varying liquid crystal pretilt angles

TL;DR: In this article, a method of obtaining controllable spatially varying liquid crystal pretilt angles using a stacked alignment layer is presented, which consists of nano-domains of horizontal and vertical alignment materials.
Journal ArticleDOI

High-performance polycrystalline SiGe thin-film transistors using Al 2 O 3 gate insulators

TL;DR: In this paper, the use of aluminum oxide as the gate insulator for low temperature (600/spl deg/C) polycrystalline SiGe thin-film transistors (TFTs) was studied.
Journal ArticleDOI

2,5-difluorenyl-substituted siloles for the fabrication of high-performance yellow organic light-emitting diodes.

TL;DR: Emissions of the present siloles gradually improved and they showed higher fluorescence quantum yields than 2,3,4,5-tetraphenylsiloles, which are highly emissive in solid films, with dominant green to yellow emissions and good solid-state Φ(F) values.
