Compatibility of Gd-DTPA perfusion and histologic studies of the brain.

TL;DR: It is demonstrated here that for the mouse brain, histology with Nissl staining and immunostaining for microtubule-associated protein 2, using standard techniques for tissue preparation, are unaffected by prior perfusion of the tissue with Gd-DTPA, which may be applied as a microMRI contrast agent in formalin-fixed brain tissue prior to histologic studies.

The developmental regulation of glutamate receptor-mediated calcium signaling in primary cultured rat hippocampal neurons

TL;DR: The results suggest that glutamate-induced Ca2+ signaling switched from AMPA-voltage-dependent calcium channel to NMDA-calcium signaling during development, and two different ionotropic glutamate receptors were differently involved in the modulation of calcium response at different stages of neuronal culture.
