TL;DR: The landscape of gene expression across tissues is described, thousands of tissue-specific and shared regulatory expression quantitative trait loci (eQTL) variants are cataloged, complex network relationships are described, and signals from genome-wide association studies explained by eQTLs are identified.

TL;DR: In this article, the aging gene expression signatures are very tissue specific and enrichment for some well-known aging components such as mitochondria biology is observed in many tissues, and different levels of cross-tissue synchronization of age-related gene expression changes are observed, and some essential tissues (e.g., heart and lung) show much stronger "co-aging" than other tissues based on principal component analysis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Opposing Functions of Microglial and Macrophagic TNFR2 in the Pathogenesis of Experimental Autoimmune Encephalomyelitis
Han Gao,Matt C. Danzi,Claire S. Choi,Mehran Taherian,Camilla Dalby-Hansen,Camilla Dalby-Hansen,Ditte Gry Ellman,Pernille M. Madsen,Pernille M. Madsen,John L. Bixby,Vance Lemmon,Kate Lykke Lambertsen,Kate Lykke Lambertsen,Roberta Brambilla +13 more
TL;DR: It is shown that TNFR2 ablation in microglia leads to early onset of EAE with increased leukocyte infiltration, T cell activation, and demyelination in the central nervous system (CNS).
Journal ArticleDOI
Mitochondrial DNA Double-Strand Breaks in Oligodendrocytes Cause Demyelination, Axonal Injury, and CNS Inflammation
Pernille M. Madsen,Milena F. Pinto,Shreyans Patel,Stephanie McCarthy,Han Gao,Mehran Taherian,Shaffiat Karmally,Claudia V. Pereira,Galina Dvoriantchikova,Dmitry Ivanov,Kenji F. Tanaka,Carlos T. Moraes,Roberta Brambilla +12 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that mtDNA damage can cause primary oligodendropathy, which in turn triggers demyelination, proving PLP:mtPstI mice to be a useful tool to study the pathological consequences of mitochondrial dysfunction in oligod endonuclease, as well as an ideal platform to test remyelinating and neuroprotective agents.
Journal ArticleDOI
Fuzzy Rule-Based Expert System for Evaluating Level of Asthma Control
TL;DR: Evaluation of performance of this intelligent fuzzy system reinforces that the system’s results not only correspond with the evaluations of experienced asthma physicians, but represents slight differences in the levels of asthma control between asthmatic patients.
