A distinct M2 macrophage infiltrate and transcriptomic profile decisively influence adipocyte differentiation in lipedema
Stefan Wolf,Jenna H. Rannikko,Reetta Virtakoivu,Paolo Cinelli,Gunther Felmerer,Anne-Sophie Burger,Pietro Giovanoli,Michael Detmar,Nicole Lindenblatt,Maija Hollmén,Epameinondas Gousopoulos +10 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the effect of M2 to M1 macrophage polarization in lipedema using the selective PI3Kγ inhibitor IPI-549 was evaluated using Cytometry by Time-of-Flight (CyTOF) and RNA sequencing.
Journal ArticleDOI
Antibody-Mediated Delivery of VEGF-C Promotes Long-Lasting Lymphatic Expansion That Reduces Recurrent Inflammation
Nikola Cousin,Sophie Bartel,Jeannette Scholl,Carlotta Tacconi,Annina Egger,Gudrún Thórhallsdóttir,Dario Neri,Lothar C. Dieterich,Michael Detmar +8 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors investigated the long-term effects of targeted VEGF-C delivery in a chronic dermatitis model in mice and found that the targeted delivery led to long-lasting lymphatic expansion and longterm protection against repeated inflammatory challenge, suggesting that it is a promising new approach for the treatment of chronic, recurrent inflammatory diseases.

Method for in vivo imaging of lymph node lymphangiogenesis by immuno-positron emission tomography and markers therefore
Michael Detmar,Viviane Mumprecht +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, a method for non-invasive in vivo imaging of the lymphatic system, in particular of lymphangiogenesis as well as methods for the making of labeled antibody for use in such methods and to uses of such labeled antibody.
