Journal ArticleDOI
A human mAb specific to oncofetal fibronectin selectively targets chronic skin inflammation in vivo.
TL;DR: Results indicate that antibodies specific to components of the modified extracellular matrix can selectively accumulate at chronically inflamed sites in vivo, and stimulates the search for bioactive molecules which can be fused to antibodies and which may confer a therapeutic benefit as a result of their preferential accumulation in psoriatic lesions and other sites of inflammation.
Journal ArticleDOI
AutoTube: a novel software for the automated morphometric analysis of vascular networks in tissues
Javier A. Montoya-Zegarra,Erica Russo,Peter Runge,Maria Jadhav,Ann-Helen Willrodt,Szymon Stoma,Simon F. Norrelykke,Michael Detmar,Cornelia Halin +8 more
TL;DR: The ability of AutoTube to determine vascular parameters in close agreement to the manual analyses and to identify statistically significant differences in vascular morphology in tissues and in vascular networks formed in in vitro assays is demonstrated.
Journal ArticleDOI
DeepCAGE Transcriptomics Reveal an Important Role of the Transcription Factor MAFB in the Lymphatic Endothelium
Lothar C. Dieterich,Sarah Klein,Anthony Mathelier,Adriana Sliwa-Primorac,Qiaoli Ma,Young-Kwon Hong,Jay W. Shin,Michito Hamada,Marina Lizio,Masayoshi Itoh,Hideya Kawaji,Timo Lassmann,Carsten O. Daub,Erik Arner,Piero Carninci,Yoshihide Hayashizaki,Alistair R. R. Forrest,Wyeth W. Wasserman,Michael Detmar +18 more
TL;DR: It is found that MAFB, a TF involved in differentiation of various cell types, is rapidly induced and activated by VEGF-C, indicating a role in the maintenance of the mature LEC phenotype.
Journal ArticleDOI
Lymphangiogenesis in development and disease
Ruediger Liersch,Michael Detmar +1 more
TL;DR: Novel therapeutic strategies are currently being developed that aim at inhibiting or promoting the formation and function of lymphatic vessels in disease.
Journal ArticleDOI
Postnatal Deletion of Podoplanin in Lymphatic Endothelium Results in Blood Filling of the Lymphatic System and Impairs Dendritic Cell Migration to Lymph Nodes.
Roberta Bianchi,Erica Russo,Samia B. Bachmann,Steven T. Proulx,Marko Sesartic,Nora Smaadahl,Steve P. Watson,Christopher D. Buckley,Cornelia Halin,Michael Detmar +9 more
TL;DR: An important role of podoplanin expressed by lymphatic vessels is revealed in preventing postnatal blood filling of the lymphatic vascular system and in contributing to efficient dendritic cell migration to the lymph nodes.
