Overview of lupus nephritis management guidelines and perspective from Asia
Chi Chiu Mok,Desmond Y H Yap,Sandra V. Navarra,Zhi-Hong Liu,Ming-Hui Zhao,Liangjing Lu,Tsutomu Takeuchi,Yingyos Avihingsanon,Xueqing Yu,Elizabeth A Lapid,Lenrore R Lugue-Lizardo,Vasant Sumethkul,Nan Shen,Shunle Chen,Tak Mao Chan +14 more
TL;DR: This manuscript summarizes the discussions by the group and presents consensus views on the clinical management and treatment of adult Asian patients with LN, taking into account both the available evidence and expert opinion in areas where evidence remains to be sought.
Journal ArticleDOI
Protein interaction for an interferon-inducible systemic lupus associated gene, IFIT1
Shuang Ye,H. Pang,Y.-Y. Gu,J. Hua,X.-G. Chen,Chunde Bao,Y. Wang,Wei Zhang,J. Qian,B. P. Tsao,B. H. Hahn,S.-L. Chen,Z.-H. Rao,Nan Shen +13 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that the interferon-related immune pathway is important in the pathogenesis of systemic lupus erythematosus and may provide potential targets for novel interventions in the treatment of SLE.
Journal ArticleDOI
Functional rare and low frequency variants in BLK and BANK1 contribute to human lupus
Simon H Jiang,Simon H Jiang,Vicki Athanasopoulos,Julia I. Ellyard,Aaron Chuah,Jean Cappello,Amelia G. Cook,Savit B. Prabhu,Savit B. Prabhu,Jacob Cardenas,Jinghua Gu,Maurice Stanley,Jonathan A. Babon,Dominic Mallon,Carmen de Lucas Collantes,Eric A. Stone,Philip Wu,Matthew A. Field,T. Andrews,Eun Cho,Virginia Pascual,Matthew C. Cook,Carola G. Vinuesa,Carola G. Vinuesa +47 more
TL;DR: It is described that rare coding variants in lupus-risk genes are present in most SLE patients and healthy controls, and the functional consequences of rare and low frequency missense variants in the interacting proteins BLK and BANK1, which are present alone, or in combination, in a substantial proportion of l upus patients.
Journal ArticleDOI
Non-synonymous variant (Gly307Ser) in CD226 is associated with susceptibility to multiple autoimmune diseases
Amit K. Maiti,Xana Kim-Howard,Parvathi Viswanathan,Laura Guillén,Xiaoxia Qian,Adriana Rojas-Villarraga,Celi Sun,Carlos A. Cañas,Gabriel J. Tobón,Koichi Matsuda,Nan Shen,Alejandra C. Cherñavsky,Juan-Manuel Anaya,Swapan K. Nath +13 more
TL;DR: The results demonstrate that the coding variant rs763361 in CD226 gene is associated with multiple ADs in non-European populations.
Journal ArticleDOI
Two functional lupus-associated BLK promoter variants control cell-type- and developmental-stage-specific transcription
Joel M. Guthridge,Rufei Lu,Rufei Lu,Harry Sun,Celi Sun,Graham B. Wiley,Nicolas Dominguez,Susan R. Macwana,Christopher J. Lessard,Xana Kim-Howard,Beth L. Cobb,Kenneth M. Kaufman,Kenneth M. Webb,Carol F. Webb,Edward K. Wakeland,Judith A. James,Judith A. James,Swapan K. Nath,Robert R. Graham,Patrick M. Gaffney +58 more
TL;DR: The results demonstrated that both lupus-associated functional variants contribute to the autoimmune disease association by modulating transcription of BLK in B cells and thus potentially altering immune responses.
