Pancreastatin-like immunoreactivity in globular dystrophic neurites of senile plaques in brains of patients with Alzheimer's disease
Osamu Yasuhara,Ichiro Akiguchi,Shinichi Nakamura,Ayae Kinoshita,Akito Ikemoto,Yasuhiro Kawamoto,Jun Kimura,Akihiro Funakoshi,Kayoko Tateishi,Patrick L. McGeer +9 more
TL;DR: The present study indicates that CgA is probably cleaved to produce PST in some globular dystrophic neurites in senile plaques.
Journal ArticleDOI
Creatine kinase in normal and dystrophic mouse muscle.
TL;DR: Creatine kinase activity was always found to be higher in the muscle of normal mice than in that of dystrophic mice, and the values in each group decreased with increasing age of the mice, so some suggestions are made about the pathogenesis of muscular dystrophy.

Changes of [3H]colchicine binding and protein synthesis in the rat striatum following kainic acid lesions
TL;DR: The present communication describes the profile of [3H]colchicine binding and protein synthesis which occur at various time intervals after intracerebral microinjections of kainic acid into the rat striatum.

Excitotoxins and Animal “Models” of Human Disease
TL;DR: Some of the excitatory and neurotoxic amino acids that have been investigated to date, their diverse modes of action and their use to produce some animal models of human disease are described.
