TL;DR: The effect of Δ9-tetrahydrocannabinol, cannabidiol, and cannabigerol on some metabolic processes in infant and adult rat brain cortex slices was studied in vitro and the incorporation of radioactivity into the protein and nucleic acid fractions was significantly inhibited by THC.

Proton pump inhibitors reduce interferon-γ-induced neurotoxicity and STAT3 phosphorylation of human astrocytes.

TL;DR: PPIs attenuate IFN‐γ‐induced neurotoxicity of human astrocytes through inhibition of the STAT3 signaling pathway, suggesting that PPIs that possess antineurotoxic properties may be a useful treatment option for Alzheimer's disease and other neuroinflammatory disorders associated with activated astroCytes.

Neurotoxins released from interferon-gamma-stimulated human astrocytes.

TL;DR: The data show that activated astrocytes release a specific combination of neurotoxic compounds, which suggest that effective anti-inflammatory treatment of such neurodegenerative diseases as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease and Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis could be improved by using an appropriate combination of anti- inflammatory agents instead of relying on any single agent.
