Journal ArticleDOI
The role of the immune system in neurodegenerative disorders.
Journal ArticleDOI
High stability of mRNAs postmortem and protocols for their assessment by RT-PCR.
TL;DR: The data give no indication of rapid postmortem degeneration of RNA, and reliable mRNA values may be obtained from postmortem brain with long autolysis times provided the tissue has been kept in the cold, and from frozen tissues for 1-2 h after thawing.
Journal ArticleDOI
Oligodendroglial microtubular masses: an abnormality observed in some human neurodegenerative diseases.
Tatsuo Yamada,Patrick L. McGeer +1 more
TL;DR: Data suggest that OMMs represent abnormal microtubular accumulations in oligodendroglia, possibly as a reaction to axonal damage.
Journal ArticleDOI
The inhibitory action of 3‐hydroxytyramine, gamma‐aminobutyric acid (gaba) and some other compounds towards the crayfish stretch receptor neuron*
TL;DR: It now appears that the crayfish stretch receptor neuron is not a specific bioassay system; such lack of specificity may be of advantage in indicating the inhibitory characteristics of compounds not previously suspected of possessing such properties.
Journal ArticleDOI
The distribution of tryptophan hydroxylase in cat brain
TL;DR: The distribution of tryptophan hydroxylase in the cat brain was investigated and found to parallel roughly the distribution of serotonin.
