Journal ArticleDOI
Progression risk of columnar cell lesions of the breast diagnosed in core needle biopsies
Anoek H J Verschuur-Maes,Arjen J. Witkamp,Peter C. de Bruin,Elsken van der Wall,Paul J. van Diest +4 more
TL;DR: CCL‐A or ADH‐CCL in a CNB were associated with a high risk of DCIS/invasive carcinoma in immediate surgical excision biopsies, illustrating that an atypical CCL in aCNB may signal the presence of concurrent lesions or development of advanced lesions in future and may justify (“mini”) surgical excison.
Journal ArticleDOI
Early detection of changes in phospholipid metabolism during neoadjuvant chemotherapy in breast cancer patients using phosphorus magnetic resonance spectroscopy at 7T.
Erwin Krikken,Wybe J. M. van der Kemp,Paul J. van Diest,Thijs van Dalen,Hanneke W. M. van Laarhoven,Peter R. Luijten,Dennis W. J. Klomp,Jannie P. Wijnen +7 more
TL;DR: P‐MRSI at 7 T was used to determine different phosphor metabolites ratios and correlate this to pathological response and determine noninvasive early detection of response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy in breast cancer patients.
Journal ArticleDOI
Distinct claudin expression characterizes BRCA1-related breast cancer
Marise R. Heerma van Voss,Paul J. van Diest,Yvonne H. C. M. Smolders,Joost Bart,Elsken van der Wall,Petra van der Groep +5 more
TL;DR: Evaluated protein expression of five major claudin family members in BRCA1‐related breast cancers in comparison with sporadic controls to improve early identification of mutation carriers.
Journal ArticleDOI
Lympho-vascular invasion in BRCA related breast cancer compared to sporadic controls
Marise R. Heerma van Voss,Petra van der Groep,Jos Bart,Elsken van der Wall,Paul J. van Diest +4 more
TL;DR: LVI is frequent in BRCA1 germline mutation related breast cancers, but seems to occur as often in sporadic controls matched for age, grade and tumor type.
Journal ArticleDOI
Egfr amplification specific gene expression in phyllodes tumours of the breast.
Konstantin Agelopoulos,Christian Kersting,Eberhard Korsching,Hartmut Schmidt,Arno Kuijper,Christian August,Pia Wülfing,J. Tio,Werner Boecker,Paul J. van Diest,Burkhard Brandt,Horst Buerger +11 more
TL;DR: The interplay between EGFR and caveolin-1, eps15, pAkt, mdm2 and pERK therefore seems to present a major molecular pathway in carcinogenesis and progression of breast phyllodes tumours.
