Journal ArticleDOI

Paramagnetic alignment of small grains: a novel method for measuring interstellar magnetic fields

TL;DR: In this paper, a method to measure the strength of magnetic fields using ultraviolet (UV) polarization of starlight that is in part produced by weakly aligned, small dust grains is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI

Detection of OH+ and H2O+ towards Orion KL

Harshal Gupta, +84 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the column densities of the reactive molecular ions OH+, H2O+, and H3O+ towards Orion KL with Herschel/HIFI were reported.
Journal ArticleDOI

Planck intermediate results: XXXVI. Optical identification and redshifts of Planck SZ sources with telescopes at the Canary Islands observatories

Peter A. R. Ade, +233 more
TL;DR: The results of approximately three years of observations of Planck Sunyaev-Zeldovich (SZ) sources with telescopes at the Canary Islands observatories as part of the general optical follow-up programme undertaken by the Planck Collaboration are discussed in this article.
Journal ArticleDOI

Interstellar Circular Polarization

TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that the wavelength of the circular polarization is sensitive to the imaginary part of the complex refractive index of the grain material, which provides an opportunity of investigating whether the grains are characteristically dielectric or metallic.
