Bias in microRNA functional enrichment analysis.

TL;DR: It is shown that the most commonly used functional enrichment test is inappropriate for the analysis of sets of genes targeted by miRNAs, and is argued against continued use of the standard functional enrichment method for miRNA targets.
Journal ArticleDOI

Erratum: The DNA sequence and biological annotation of human chromosome 1 (Nature (2006) 441 (315-321))

TL;DR: This corrects the article to show that the method used to derive the H2O2 “spatially aggregating force” is based on a two-step process, not a single step, like in the previous version of this paper.

Mutations in SNORD118 cause the cerebral microangiopathy leukoencephalopathy with calcifications and cysts

Emma M. Jenkinson, +71 more
- 01 Oct 2016 -
TL;DR: It is shown that biallelic mutations in the gene SNORD118, encoding the box C/D snoRNA U8, cause the cerebral microangiopathy leukoencephalopathy with calcifications and cysts (LCC), presenting at any age from early childhood to late adulthood.
Journal ArticleDOI

Genome-wide discovery and verification of novel structured RNAs in Plasmodium falciparum

TL;DR: A genome-wide search for novel noncoding RNAs (ncRNA) in the malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum has verified the expression of 33 novel ncRNA transcripts including four members of a nc RNA family in the asexual blood stage and supporting evidence for purifying selection acting on the experimentally verified ncRNAs is provided.
