TL;DR: It is demonstrated that exosomes from mouse and human lung-, liver- and brain-tropic tumour cells fuse preferentially with resident cells at their predicted destination, namely lung fibroblasts and epithelial cells, liver Kupffer cells and brain endothelial cells.
Journal ArticleDOI
Pancreatic cancer exosomes initiate pre-metastatic niche formation in the liver

TL;DR: It is shown that PDAC-derived exosomes induce liver pre-metastatic niche formation in naive mice and consequently increase liver metastatic burden and suggests that exosomal MIF primes the liver for metastasis and may be a prognostic marker for the development of PDAC liver metastasis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Improvement in Perioperative Outcome After Hepatic Resection: Analysis of 1,803 Consecutive Cases Over the Past Decade
William R. Jarnagin,Mithat Gonen,Yuman Fong,Ronald P. DeMatteo,Leah Ben-Porat,Sarah A Little,Carlos U. Corvera,Sharon M. Weber,Leslie H. Blumgart +8 more
TL;DR: Assessment of the nature of changes in the field of hepatic resectional surgery and their impact on perioperative outcome to establish a baseline for this type of surgery.
Journal ArticleDOI
Staging, resectability, and outcome in 225 patients with hilar cholangiocarcinoma.
William R. Jarnagin,Yuman Fong,Ronald P. DeMatteo,Mithat Gonen,Edmund C. Burke,BS Jessica Bodniewicz,BA Miranda Youssef,David S. Klimstra,Leslie H. Blumgart +8 more
TL;DR: By taking full account of local tumor extent, the proposed staging system for hilar cholangiocarcinoma accurately predicts resectability, the likelihood of metastatic disease, and survival.
Journal ArticleDOI
