TL;DR: The pathway for the relationship between prior pre term birth and subsequent neonatal mortality may be the recurrence of preterm birth.
Abstract: The study purpose was to assess the relationship between various grades of preterm birth (moderate preterm: 33–36 weeks; severe preterm: 27–32 weeks; extreme preterm: ≤ 26 weeks) in the first pregnancy and neonatal mortality (death within 28 days of birth; early: 0–7 days; late: 8–28 days) in the second pregnancy. Using the Missouri maternally-linked dataset (1989–2005), a population-based, retrospective cohort analysis with propensity score-weighted matching was conducted on mothers with two consecutive singleton live births (n = 310,653 women). Women with a prior preterm birth were more likely to subsequently experience neonatal death. The odds increased in a dose-dependent pattern with ascending severity of the preterm event in the first pregnancy (moderate preterm: AOR = 1.32; 95% CI: 1.10–1.60; severe preterm: AOR = 2.62; 95% CI: 2.01–3.41; extreme preterm: AOR = 5.84; 95% CI: 4.28–7.97; p value for trend < 0.001). However, the pathway for the relationship between prior preterm birth and subs...

TL;DR: Genetic diversity analysis showed an important variability between and within Africa onion landraces, and it would be useful to combine in situ and ex situ conservation, using these genetic resources to improve the production and the appropriate use of African onion cultivars.
Abstract: Description du sujet. Conclusions.

TL;DR: In this paper, a brief exploration of the interface between the collective or ancestral archetype of the "Dodo", symbolising destructive power in Hausa tales and the more individual interpretation and stylistic concerns of a contemporary popular singer, Ali Na Maliki, addressing, at another level, the subject of power and leadership portrayed by the traditional chief.
Abstract: Symbols of leadership and conceptions of power in Hausa Literature This article presents a brief exploration of the interface between the collective or ancestral archetype of the "Dodo", symbolising destructive power in Hausa tales and the more individual interpretation and stylistic concerns of a contemporary popular singer, Ali Na Maliki, addressing, at another level, the subject of power and leadership portrayed by the traditional chief The paper will focus on the interaction between genres, seen in the light of intertextuality as defined by Michael Riffaterre and MH Abrams among others It highlights, moreover, the thematic and aesthetic contribution of the oral artist Ali Na Maliki to contemporary Hausa orature and culture It reposes on an analysis of the manipulation of certain images and animal symbols of leadership and power borrowed from the world of tales used with a certain degree of innovation in order to evoke, symbolically, the mythical

TL;DR: Cold-induced bradycardia supervening during night sleep is discussed in terms of the occurrence of a vagal reflex preventing central blood pressure to rise and lower values of heart rate in the cold, while body temperatures remained within normal range.
Abstract: Two young male Caucasians volunteered for a study on the effects of cold exposure during night sleep in winter in the Arctic. The 14-day experiment was divided in three consecutive periods, baseline (2 nights), cold exposure (10 night) and recovery (2 nights). Both baseline and recovery data were obtained in neutral thermal conditions in a laboratory. The subjects slept in a sleeping bag under an unheated tent during the cold exposure. Apart from polysomnographic and body temperature recordings, electrocardiograms were taken through a telemetric system for safety purposes. Heart rates were noted at 5-min intervals and averaged hourly. In both environmental conditions, heart rate decreased within the first two hours of sleep. Comparison of the data obtained during cold exposure vs. thermal neutrality revealed lower values of heart rate in the cold, while body temperatures remained within normal range. This cold-induced bradycardia supervening during night sleep is discussed in terms of the occurrence of a vagal reflex preventing central blood pressure to rise.

TL;DR: If the number of seizures of drugs increases each year, the possibility of drug consumption by its users would also grow and highlights important diseases related to their consumption and the more appropriate implication of the blood and urine tests of these drug users.
Abstract: Drug is a substance, which trouble brain. One of the reasons for juvenile delinquency is drug use. The present work is a retrospective study based on seizures of drugs made by the Niger courts and. Evaluation of the drug utilization by people according to the statistics of drug seizures from 2013 to 2016 of the Central Office for the Suppression of Illegal Traffic in Narcotics (OCRTIS). According to the statistics of drug seizures from 2013 to 2016 of the Central Office for the Suppression of Illegal Traffic in Narcotics (OCRTIS). Nine (9) types of drugs belonging to six (6) families were seized in Niger including: Amphetamines, Cannabis, Crack, Cocaine, Diazepam, Ephedrine, Heroin, Methamphetamines and Tramadol. These come from all countries bordering Niger but also from East Africa and Central Africa and the data gathered was analyzed using MS Excel. It should be noted that the percentage of those charged varies according to age group whose: the under 18’s are 6%, 59% are between 18 and 29 years, 25% are between 30 and 39 years, the 40 years and over are 10%. So most of the people which have been arrested are minors between 18 and 39 years old. In addition, it is necessary to mention 2% of women against 98 % of men in the said sale and consumption. If the number of seizures increases each year, the possibility of drug consumption by its users would also grow and highlights important diseases related to their consumption. Thus, the more appropriate implication of the blood and urine tests of these drug users.
