TL;DR: In this article, the authors focused on the liquid-liquid extraction of uranium by anionic extractants of Alamine 336 and Aliquat 336 and determined the parameters allowing the optimization of the extraction percentage of uranium, and other metals such as molybdenum, zirconium and vanadium.
Abstract: This study focuses on the liquid-liquid extraction of uranium by anionic extractants of Alamine 336 and Aliquat 336. The objective of this study is to determine the parameters allowing the optimization of the extraction percentage of uranium, and other metals such as molybdenum, zirconium and vanadium. The extraction kinetics of uranium is achieved in 2 minutes. Sulfuric acid solutions are the media per excellence when using Alamine 336 as extractant. However, with Aliquat 336, it is orthophosphoric acid. Uranium is extracted at 99% in a single contact from the ratio: organic phase over aqueous phase (O/A) equals 1. The extraction of uranium with Alamine 336 depends on the initial pH of the aqueous phase as well as the Alamine 336 concentration. Alamine 336 tends to release the uranium and the extracted zirconium until the 3 rd contact to the benefit of the molybdenum due to the natural occurrence of đ¶đ‘™âˆ’,𝑁𝑂3 − and đč − ions in the uranium-bearing solutions which have the tendency of breaking the anion complexes. Vanadium, which is not extracted by Alamine 336 and Aliquat 336, can, in the hydrodynamic conditions of this work, be extracted by increasing the redox potential to 800 mV and pH ≄ 1.

TL;DR: The alkaline medium + CTAC surfactant molecules in acetonitrile is found to be very suitable for this pyrethroid insecticide analysis in environment matrices and the method seems to be suitable for environmental matrices quality control.
Abstract: An analytical method based on the use of UV-irradiation to produce fluorescent derivatives from Etofenprox a non-fluorescent pyrethroid insecticide is described. The impact of cetyltrimethylammonium chloride (CTAC) micellar medium on the Etofenprox photochemically-induced fluorescence (PIF) is reported. Parameters influencing the sensitivity and repeatability of the PIF method have been optimized. The alkaline medium (NaOH 6 × 10−2 M) + CTAC surfactant molecules (3.84 mg/ml) in acetonitrile is found to be very suitable for this pyrethroid insecticide analysis in environment matrices. Linear dynamic range is established over more than two orders of magnitude. The limit of detection is lower than 5 ng/ml. The method seems to be suitable for environmental matrices quality control. Application to the analysis of spiked natural waters gave recoveries rate ranged from 94 to 104% and 107 to 115% respectively for river and pound water.

TL;DR: In this paper, the liquid-liquid extraction of gold by neutral extractant and anionic extractant (Aliquat 336) in various solvents was studied and the extracted gold was analyzed by the UV-Visible spectrometric method.
During this work, the liquid-liquid extraction of gold by neutral extractant (TOPO) and anionic extractant (Aliquat 336) in various solvents was studied. The influence of the diluent, the effect of the ionic strength of the aqueous phase and the kinetics time were also studied. The extracted gold was analyzed by the UV-Visible spectrometric method. The results of the extraction showed that Aliquat 336 is a potential gold with 99%. On the other hand, the TOPO gave an average extraction efficiency of 45%. For Aliquat 336, the stripping in aqueous medium gave low extraction efficiency of 0.3%. The best rate was obtained in a nitric medium with 99% and in record time of 2 minutes.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors highlight initiatives in developing future statisticians directed at high-school and university levels in Niger, focusing on collaborations, partnerships, outreach initiatives and supporting mechanisms, which may contribute to increase engagement and interest in and attraction to the field of statistics.
Abstract: This paper aims at highlighting initiatives in developing future statisticians directed at high-school and university levels in Niger. More specifically, it focuses on collaborations, partnerships, outreach initiatives and supporting mechanisms, which may contribute to increase engagement and interest in and attraction to the field of statistics in the era of data science and data-driven innovations. Providing sufficient exposure to modern statistical analysis, computational and graphical tools, written and oral communication skills, and the ever-growing interdisciplinary use of statistics are key activities for building future generations of statisticians. Furthermore, current curricula as well as pedagogical approaches, teaching materials, and assessment methods need to be re-thought in order tomeet the requirements of the skills needed in the 21st century ensuring effective interaction with scientists, public institutions, industry, civil society, and policy makers.
