TL;DR: Both L. japonica in combination with Bee Propolispro and G. biloba in combination in two-and-two combination against Hp has synergistic action on Hp and no antagonistic actions are noted in L.Japonica.
Abstract: Objective To study the combined antibacterial activity of Lonicera japonica, Gikgo biloba and Bee Propolispro against Helicobacter pylori(Hp). Methods The protocol was designed by checkboard method. The minimal inhibitory concentrations (MICs) of L. japonica, G. biloba and Bee Propolispro in two-and-two combination against Hp were determined by agar plate method, and the fractional inhibitory concentration (FIC) indexes was calculated for the evaluation of the combined effects. Results When L. japonica combined with Bee Propolispro, the FIC index was 0.187(P0.5) but was 0.502 (P0.5) when combined with G. biloba. The FIC index was 0.188 (P0.5) when G. biloba combined with Bee Propolispro. Conclusion Both L. japonica in combination with Bee Propolispro and G. biloba in combination with Bee Propolispro has synergistic action on Hp. L. japonica combined with G. biloba has additivity against Hp. No antagonistic actions are noted in L. japonica, Bee Propolispro and G. biloba.

TL;DR: The mean fasting plasma glucose concentration of the GK rats decreases obviously after gastric bypass through different parts of small intestine, and is not associated with the length ofSmall intestine and body weight.
Abstract: Objective To establish a new gastric bypass animal-model with Goto-Kakizaki rats whose different parts of the small intestine were bypassed while stomach was not bypassed. Methods Forty male 3-month-old GK rats were randomly divided into 4 groups: group Ⅰ (sham operation), group Ⅱ (duodenum bypassed), group Ⅲ (jejunum bypassed), group Ⅳ(ileum bypassed). Fasting plasma glucose was measured before operation and the 1st, 4th,and 8th week after operation in all the rats, the body weight of all the rats were measured simultaneously. Results The survival rate of opration for the rats was 95%. Two rats in group Ⅳ died on the first day after operation. The mean fasting plasma glucose concentration of the rats in group Ⅱ, Ⅲ, Ⅳ declined obviously 4 weeks after gastric bypass [group Ⅱ (12.02±1.97) vs (6.36±0.50) mmol/L, group Ⅲ (13.42±1.66) vs (5.96± 0.53) mmol/L, group Ⅳ (14.32±2.82) vs (5.18±0.49) mmol/L, all P<0.01], but there were no significant differences among the gastric bypassed groups. The weight of rats in group Ⅰ, Ⅱ, Ⅲ increased obviously after gastric bypass [group Ⅰ (253.6±9.37) vs (367.0±23.70) g, group Ⅱ (268.2± 7.95) vs (384.8±16.12) g, group Ⅲ (253.0±6.20) vs (323.0±16.40) g, all P<0.05] except the rats in group Ⅳ [(262.0±13.47) vs (185.8±11.56) g]. Conclusions The mean fasting plasma glucose concentration of the GK rats decreases obviously after gastric bypass through different parts of small intestine. The fasting plasma glucose concentration is not associated with the length of small intestine and body weight. Key words: Diabetes mellitus, type 2; Gastric bypass; Disease models, animal

TL;DR: EHW has significant in vitro effect of growth inhibition on bacteria, and the inhibitory effect of circular filterpaper pieces of EHW on bacteria is observed.
Abstract: Objective To study in vitro growth-inhibitory effect of EHW on bacteria. Methods K-B paper dispersion method was used and the paper was presoaked with 100% EHW water extract. We observed the inhibitory effect of circular filterpaper pieces of EHW on Staphylococcus auresus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, P. aeruginosa, E. coli、S. typhy, α-hemloytic streptococcus, β-hemolytic streptococcus. Results It had obvious effect of growth inhibition on bacteria. Conclusion EHW has significant in vitro effect of growth inhibition on bacteria.

TL;DR: An overview on the research of postsynaptic dense area including its discovery and composition, participation in a major neurotransmitter in synaptic plasticity, as well as the relationship between postsyn synaptic dense area and the synaptic Plasticity is made.
Abstract: Synapses are connections between neurons, biological signals are transferred from the presynaptic membrane by the synaptic transmission to the postsynaptic membrane.Changes in the number and function of synapsis can cause changes in synaptic plasticity, thereby can affect learning and memory.Postsynaptic dense area and the close relationship between synaptic plasticity are essential for the maintenance of synaptic function properly. In this article,we make a brief overview on the research of postsynaptic dense area including its discovery and composition, participation in a major neurotransmitter in synaptic plasticity,as well as the relationship between postsynaptic dense area and the synaptic plasticity.

TL;DR: The surveillance results from 2016 to 2017 showed that the main pathogens of blood stream infection in China were gram-negative bacteria, while Escherichia coli was the most common pathogen; the MRSA incidence was lower than other surveillance data in the same period in China.
Abstract: Objective To investigate the distribution and antimicrobial resistance profile of clinical bacteria isolated from blood culture in China. Methods The clinical bacterial strains isolated from blood culture from member hospitals of Blood Bacterial Resistant Investigation Collaborative System (BRICS) were collected during January 2016 to December 2017. Antibiotic susceptibility tests were conducted by agar dilution or broth dilution methods recommended by US Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI) 2019. WHONET 5.6 was used to analyze data. Results During the study period, 8 154 bacterial strains were collected from 33 hospitals, of which 2 325 (28.5%) were Gram-positive bacteria and 5 829 (71.5%) were Gram-negative bacteria. The top 10 bacterial species were Escherichia coli (34.7%), Klebsiella pneumoniae (15.8%), Staphylococcus aureus (11.3%), coagulase-negative Staphylococci (7.4%), Acinetobacter baumannii (4.6%), Pseudomonas aeruginosa (3.9%), Enterococcus faecium (3.8%), Streptococci (2.9%), Enterobacter cloacae (2.7%) and Enterococcus faecalis (2.5%). Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and methicillin-resistant coagulase-negative Staphylococcus (MRCNS) accounted for 34.2%(315/922) and 77.7%(470/605), respectively. No vancomycin-resistant Staphylococcus was detected. The resistance rate of Enterococcus faecium to vancomycin was 0.6%(2/312), and no vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus faecium was detected. The ESBLs-producing rates in Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae and Proteus were 55.7%(1 576/2 831), 29.9%(386/1 289) and 38.5%(15/39), respectively. The incidences of carbapenem-resistance in Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae were 1.2%(33/2 831), 17.5%(226/1 289), respectively. The resistance rates of Acinetobacter baumannii to polymyxin and tigecycline were 14.8%(55/372) and 5.9%(22/372) respectively, and those of Pseudomonas aeruginosa to polymyxin and carbapenem were 1.3%(4/315) and 18.7%(59/315), respectively. Conclusion The surveillance results from 2016 to 2017 showed that the main pathogens of blood stream infection in China were gram-negative bacteria, while Escherichia coli was the most common pathogen; the MRSA incidence was lower than other surveillance data in the same period in China; carbapenem-resistant Escherichia coli was at a low level during this surveillance, while carbapenem-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae is on the rise.
