TL;DR: Intuitionistic fuzzy interpretations of the processes ofmulti-person and of multi-measurement tool multi-criteria decision makings are discussed in this paper.
Abstract: Intuitionistic fuzzy sets are extensions of fuzzy sets. Their elements have two degrees – a degree of membership and a degree of non-membership so that their sum is smaller or equal to 1. Intuitionistic fuzzy interpretations of the processes of multi-person and of multi-measurement tool multi-criteria decision makings are discussed in this paper.

TL;DR: In this paper, it was shown that different types of cerium oxide species are formed on the surface depending on the amount of CeO2 and temperature of calcination of the samples.
Abstract: CeO2–Al2O3 mixed oxides with different CeO2 loading (in the range of 0.5–12 wt.%) were prepared by wetness impregnation of alumina with aqueous solution of di-ammonium hexanitrate cerate (NH4)2[Ce(NO3)6]. The samples after calcination at 773 and 1073 K were characterized by different techniques, using X-ray diffraction (XRD), UV–VIS diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (DRS), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and temperature-programmed reduction (TPR). It is shown that different types of cerium oxide species are formed on the surface depending on the amount of CeO2 and temperature of calcination of the samples. XRD showed the formation of nanocrystallites of ceria on alumina surface when the amount of CeO2 is higher than 6 wt.%; at lower concentrations ceria was found to be amorphous. The ceria loading lower than 6 wt.% stabilizes the textural properties of alumina. At loading of 1 wt.% of CeO2 XPS spectra reveals the presence of a strong interaction between ceria and alumina leading to a formation of superficial CeAlO3-like phase. TPR results show that well dispersed CeO2 particles present on the surface of alumina form CeAlO3 at temperature of reduction in the range of 873–993 K, while for the reduction of CeO2 crystallites, a higher temperature of reduction of 1190 K is needed.

TL;DR: In this paper, an extension to the wind profile in the surface layer is formulated for the entire boundary layer, with emphasis on the lowest 200-300 m and considering only wind speeds above 3 m s−1 at 10 m height.
Abstract: Analysis of profiles of meteorological measurements from a 160 m high mast at the National Test Site for wind turbines at Hovsore (Denmark) and at a 250 m high TV tower at Hamburg (Germany) shows that the wind profile based on surface-layer theory and Monin-Obukhov scaling is valid up to a height of 50–80 m. At higher levels deviations from the measurements progressively occur. For applied use an extension to the wind profile in the surface layer is formulated for the entire boundary layer, with emphasis on the lowest 200–300 m and considering only wind speeds above 3 m s−1 at 10 m height. The friction velocity is taken to decrease linearly through the boundary layer. The wind profile length scale is composed of three component length scales. In the surface layer the first length scale is taken to increase linearly with height with a stability correction following Monin-Obukhov similarity. Above the surface layer the second length scale (L
MBL
) becomes independent of height but not of stability, and at the top of the boundary layer the third length scale is assumed to be negligible. A simple model for the combined length scale that controls the wind profile and its stability dependence is formulated by inverse summation. Based on these assumptions the wind profile for the entire boundary layer is derived. A parameterization of L
MBL
is formulated using the geostrophic drag law, which relates friction velocity and geostrophic wind. The empirical parameterization of the resistance law functions A and B in the geostrophic drag law is uncertain, making it impractical. Therefore an expression for the length scale, L
MBL
, for applied use is suggested, based on measurements from the two sites.

TL;DR: An unbinned maximum-likelihood fit to the dimuon invariant mass distribution gives a branching fraction B(Bs(0)→μ+ μ-)=(3.0(-0.9)(+1.0))×10(-9), where the uncertainty includes both statistical and systematic contributions.
Abstract: Results are presented from a search for the rare decays B0s→μ+μ− and B0→μ+μ− in pp collisions at s√=7 and 8 TeV, with data samples corresponding to integrated luminosities of 5 and 20 fb−1, respectively, collected by the CMS experiment at the LHC. An unbinned maximum-likelihood fit to the dimuon invariant mass distribution gives a branching fraction B(B0s→μ+μ−)=(3.0+1.0−0.9)×10−9, where the uncertainty includes both statistical and systematic contributions. An excess of B0s→μ+μ− events with respect to background is observed with a significance of 4.3 standard deviations. For the decay B0→μ+μ− an upper limit of B(B0→μ+μ−)<1.1×10−9 at the 95% confidence level is determined. Both results are in agreement with the expectations from the standard model.

TL;DR: The validation of rapid, low-cost spectrophotometric procedures for the quantification of the three main groups of bioactive substances in poplar-type propolis has been performed and two sets of results agreed satisfactory, as proven by Student's t-test.
Abstract: The validation of rapid, low-cost spectrophotometric procedures for the quantification of the three main groups of bioactive substances (flavones and flavonols, flavanones and dihydroflavonols, and total phenolics) in poplar-type propolis has been performed. A spectrophotometric assay based on the formation of an aluminium chloride complex was applied for the quantification of total flavones and flavonols using galangin as standard. Because of the high amount of flavanones and dihydroflavonols in “poplar type” propolis, the introduction of a distinct procedure for their quantification was considered of special significance and the DAB9 colorimetric method was applied for the purpose. Total phenolic content was measured by the Folin–Ciocalteu procedure using a mixture of pinocembrin and galangin as a reference. The procedures were validated using a model mixture of compounds representing the poplar-type propolis composition as found in previous studies. The accuracy (recovery) varied in the range 84–109%, and the relative standard deviation was 0.5–6.2%. The developed spectrophotometric procedures were applied to six poplar type propolis samples. The results were verified independently by a HPLC procedure. The two sets of results agreed satisfactory, as proven by Student's t-test. Copyright © 2004 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
