TL;DR: The asymptotic behavior of subsonic flows at the downstream and upstream, as well as the critical mass flux, has been clarified and it is established that, when the oscillation of the entropy and Bernoulli functions at the upstream is sufficiently small in $C^{1,1}$ and the mass flux is in a suitable regime, there exists a unique globalSubsonic solution in a suited class of general nozzles.
Abstract: We are concerned with global steady subsonic flows through general infinitely long nozzles for the full Euler equations. The problem is formulated as a boundary value problem in the unbounded domain for a nonlinear elliptic equation of second order in terms of the stream function. It is established that, when the oscillation of the entropy and Bernoulli functions at the upstream is sufficiently small in $C^{1,1}$ and the mass flux is in a suitable regime, there exists a unique global subsonic solution in a suitable class of general nozzles. The assumptions are required to prevent the occurrence of supersonic bubbles inside the nozzles. The asymptotic behavior of subsonic flows at the downstream and upstream, as well as the critical mass flux, has been clarified.

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that the MeHSP90.9 chaperone complex is a regulator of drought stress resistance in cassava by regulating abscisic acid (ABA) and hydrogen peroxide (H2 O2) using two specific protein inhibitors of HSP90 (geldanamycin (GDA) and radicicol (RAD).
Abstract: The 90 kDa heat shock protein (HSP90) is widely involved in various developmental processes and stress responses in plants. However, the molecular chaperone HSP90-constructed protein complex and its function in cassava remain elusive. In this study, we report that HSP90 is essential for drought stress resistance in cassava by regulating abscisic acid (ABA) and hydrogen peroxide (H2 O2 ) using two specific protein inhibitors of HSP90 (geldanamycin (GDA) and radicicol (RAD)). Among 10 MeHSP90s, the transcript of MeHSP90.9 is largely induced during drought stress. Further investigation identifies MeWRKY20 and MeCatalase1 as MeHSP90.9-interacting proteins. MeHSP90.9-, MeWRKY20-, or MeCatalase1-silenced plants through virus-induced gene silencing display drought sensitivity in cassava, indicating that they are important to drought stress response. MeHSP90.9 can promote the direct transcriptional activation of MeWRKY20 on the W-box element of MeNCED5 promoter, encoding a key enzyme in ABA biosynthesis. Moreover, MeHSP90.9 positively regulates the activity of MeCatalase1, and MeHSP90.9-silenced cassava leaves accumulate more H2 O2 under drought stress. Taken together, we demonstrate that the MeHSP90.9 chaperone complex is a regulator of drought stress resistance in cassava.

TL;DR: In this paper, an intermittent control approach with multiple switched periods is proposed for the finite-time synchronization in complex networks with non-delay and time-varying delay couplings.
Abstract: In this paper, an intermittent control approach with multiple switched periods is proposed for the finite-time synchronization in complex networks with non-delay and time-varying delay couplings. Based on finite-time stability theory, the theory of Kronecker product of matrices and the inequality techniques, some novel delay-dependent criteria are obtained to ensure finite-time synchronization for the complex networks, which avoid complex computation on the matrix inequalities. Moreover, the convergence time does not depend on control widths and control periods for the proposed intermittent controller with multiple switched periods. When the control width index $$\theta \rightarrow 1^-$$ , the finite-time impulsive synchronization control schemes as special cases are also given. Especially, the traditional synchronization criteria for some models are improved in the convergence time by using the novel periodical intermittent feedback control and the finite-time impulsive control. The results here are also applicable to both directed and undirected weighted networks without any other conditions. Finally, one numerical example with chaotic nodes is given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed controllers.

TL;DR: In this article, four novel Zn(II) and Cd(II)-coordination polymers were synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectra, and X-ray diffraction.
Abstract: Four novel Zn(II) and Cd(II) coordination polymers, {[Zn(cmb)(dpa)]·H2O}n (1), {[Zn(cmb)(bpp)]·2.5H2O}n (2), {[Zn(cmb)(bimb)]·3H2O}n (3), and {[Cd2(cmb)2(bimb)]·H2O}n (4) (H2cmb = 2-(carboxymethoxy)benzoic acid; dpa = 4,4′-dipyridylamine; bpp = 1,3-di(4-bipy)propane; bimb = 1,4-bis(imidazol)butane), have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectra, and X-ray diffraction. Complex 1 exhibits a diamond (dia) framework of four-fold interpenetration (class IIIa). 2 features a rare 1D → 3D polycatenated architecture, which is built from the interlocking of two sets of 1D supramolecular loops running in different directions (almost perpendicular). The 3D crystalline lattice of 3 is constructed through the parallel packing of corrugated 2D 44 (sql) nets. Complex 4 shows a 2D network with the (3,4)-connected (43)2(4 × 104 × 12)(42 × 104) topology, which consists of 1D [Cd(cmb)]n arrays and helical pillars. The results clearly indicate the importance of linking modes of organic ligands and metal centers as well as the auxiliary ligands in the direction of the diverse structures for complexes 1–4. Thermal stabilities and luminescent properties of complexes 1–4 have also been investigated.
