TL;DR: The interconnection provides a user-defined modeling tool where the high-level computation facilities of MATLAB and its powerful Toolboxes can be advantageously used in the general network simulator context of the EMTP.
Abstract: This paper presents a programmed link between MATLAB and EMTP (Electromagnetic Transients Program). It is an interconnection where MATLAB functions can be called in from the EMTP Fortran code. The interconnection provides a user-defined modeling tool where the high-level computation facilities of MATLAB and its powerful Toolboxes can be advantageously used in the general network simulator context of the EMTP.

TL;DR: In this article, the feasibility studies concerning an accurate voltage phasor measurement in a series-compensated network undergoing large disturbances are described, and the principal modes of distortions in such a network are described.
Abstract: This paper describes the feasibility studies concerning an accurate voltage phasor measurement in a series-compensated network undergoing large disturbances. The principal modes of distortions in such a network are described. Some of these modes are changing with the fundamental frequency. The phasor evaluation is based on a new digital filter approach in which the fundamental frequency is estimated using a least-square algorithm. The need to have special potential (voltage) transformers is also discussed. This approach would be used in a shunt reactor switching scheme for an overall voltage control of a transmission network. >

TL;DR: In this article, a simplified deterministic structural dam representation with beam elements in complement to a hydrostatic seasonal time (HST) statistical displacement model is presented to estimate the response for an extreme thermal event not yet experienced by the dam.
Abstract: Seasonal temperature displacements are an important component of the total displacements recorded by pendulum measurements at gravity dams located in northern regions. A hybrid dam displacement model is presented in this paper to interpret these displacements and extrapolate the response for an extreme thermal event not yet experienced by the dam. The hybrid model uses a simplified deterministic structural dam representation with beam elements in complement to a hydrostatic seasonal time (HST) statistical displacement model. Comparisons are first established between 1D heat transfer analyses of typical gravity dam sections, and 2D finite-element (FE) analyses. Thermomechanical displacements are compared to show the validity of the proposed simplified deterministic beam model for typical dams. A case study of an actual 40 m gravity dam located in Quebec, Canada is then presented. It is shown that the deterministic model can be calibrated using the pendulum displacements and the HST model. The calibrated deterministic model is then used to extrapolate the displacement response for extreme thermal events not yet experienced by the dam. The proposed methodology represents a simple extension of the gravity method, widely used to verify gravity dam stability, as a first step to interpret recorded pendulum displacements and set appropriate warning and alarm levels on a rational basis before developing 2D and 3D thermomechanical FE deterministic dam models that require a lot of resources and expertise to be used effectively.

TL;DR: The conductor section is for a stator frame of a polyphase dynamoelectric machine as discussed by the authors, which is provided with a series of elongated parallel slots for receiving respectively conductor sections.
Abstract: The conductor section is for a stator frame of a polyphase dynamoelectric machine. The stator frame is provided with a series of elongated parallel slots for receiving respectively conductor sections. The conductor section comprises two parallel conductor sides of substantially rectangular cross section adapted to fit respectively into two corresponding parallel slots of the stator frame, the two sides defining a plane; and at least one conductor head of substantially rectangular cross section, connecting two adjacent ends of the parallel sides. The head shows a substantially U-shaped body when seen from a top view perpendicular to the plane, and a waved-shape body when seen from a front view contained in the plane. The head having top and bottom surfaces facing only one side of the plane from one end of the head to the other end thereof. Methods for mounting conductor sections of stator winding onto a circular shaped stator frame are also described.

TL;DR: Most of the variables studied (bicarbonate, pH, O2 and CO2 partial pressures, cortisol concentration in blood, uncorrected milk yield, and milk components other than milk fat) showed no variation that could be attributed to exposure to electric and magnetic fields.
