TL;DR: The rationale of these pure nanodrugs via the self-assembly approach might open an alternative avenue and give inspiration to fabricate new carrier-free nanodruggeds for tumor theranostics, especially for two small molecular antitumor drugs with the aim of combinational antitumors therapy in a synergistic way.
Abstract: There are tremendous challenges from both tumor and its therapeutic formulations affecting the effective treatment of tumor, including tumor recurrence, and complex multistep preparations of formulation. To address these issues, herein a simple and green approach based on the self-assembly of therapeutic agents including a photosensitizer (chlorine e6, Ce6) and a chemotherapeutic agent (doxorubicin, DOX) was developed to prepare carrier-free nanoparticles (NPs) with the ability to inhibit tumor recurrence. The designed NPs were formed by self-assembly of Ce6 and DOX associated with electrostatic, π–π stacking and hydrophobic interactions. They have a relatively uniform size of average 70 nm, surface charge of −20 mV and high drug encapsulation efficiency, which benefits the favorable accumulation of drugs at the tumor region through a potential enhanced permeability and retention (EPR) effect as compared to their counterpart of free Ce6 solution. In addition, they could eradiate tumors without recurrence ...

TL;DR: An innovative flexible multifunctional microsensor that integrates "non-crosstalk" multiple perception and green electromagnetic interference shielding only in one pixel, with satisfactory sensitivity and fast information feedback is proposed, opening up a new horizon for intelligent devices.
Abstract: Humans are undergoing a fateful transformation focusing on artificial intelligence, quantum information technology, virtual reality, etc., which is inseparable from intelligent nano-micro devices. However, the booming of "Big Data" brings about an even greater challenge by growing electromagnetic radiation. Herein, an innovative flexible multifunctional microsensor is proposed, opening up a new horizon for intelligent devices. It integrates "non-crosstalk" multiple perception and green electromagnetic interference shielding only in one pixel, with satisfactory sensitivity and fast information feedback. Importantly, beneficial by deep insight into the variable-temperature electromagnetic response, the microsensor tactfully transforms the urgent threat of electromagnetic radiation into "wealth," further integrating self-power. This result will refresh researchers' realization of next-generation devices, ushering in a new direction for aerospace engineering, remote sensing, communications, medical treatment, biomimetic robot, prosthetics, etc.

TL;DR: It is proved that the constructed controller can render the closed-loop system asymptotically stable and based on Lyapunov stability theory, it is shown that the designed observer and controller are independent of the time delays.
Abstract: In this note, the problem of robust output feedback control for a class of nonlinear time delayed systems is considered. The systems considered are in strict-feedback form. State observer is first designed, then based on the observed states the controller is designed via backstepping method. Both the designed observer and controller are independent of the time delays. Based on Lyapunov stability theory, we prove that the constructed controller can render the closed-loop system asymptotically stable. Simulation results further verify the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

TL;DR: This work describes a simple way to produce high-performance carbon electrode materials for practical application, but also inspires an idea for future structure design of porous carbon.
Abstract: In this study, three-dimensional (3D) hierarchical porous carbon with abundant functional groups is produced through a very simple low-cost carbonization of Artemia cyst shells. The unique hierarchical porous structure of this material, combining large numbers of micropores and macropores, as well as reasonable amount of mesopores, is proven favorable to capacitive behavior. The abundant oxygen functional groups from the natural carbon precursor contribute stable pseudocapacitance. As-prepared sample exhibits high specific capacitance (369 F g–1 in 1 M H2SO4 and 349 F g–1 in 6 M KOH), excellent cycling stability with capacitance retention of 100% over 10 000 cycles, and promising rate performance. This work not only describes a simple way to produce high-performance carbon electrode materials for practical application, but also inspires an idea for future structure design of porous carbon.
