Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: It is suggested that Jak1 and Jak2 inhibition may relieve pain in RA caused by inflammatory and non-inflammatory mechanisms and are consistent with the overarching involvement of the Jak-signal transducer and activator of transcription (Jak/STAT) pathway in mediating the action, expression, and regulation of a multitude of pro- and anti-inflammatory cytokines.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: The biological role of CRP in RA and its implications for disease activity and treatment response are reviewed, and the impact of treatment on CRP levels is discussed and whether reducing systemic inflammation and inhibiting CRP-mediated inflammatory pathways may have an impact on conditions commonly comorbid with RA.

63 citations

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this paper, a systematic overview of psychiatric and chronic pain comorbidities among patients diagnosed with Fibromyalgia was provided to inform the development of recommendations for the design of clinical trials.

61 citations

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this article, the authors examined whether AOSD and systemic juvenile idiopathic arthritis (SJIA) represent a continuum of the same disease and explored the latest available evidence related to prevalence, clinical and laboratory manifestations, complications, diagnostic challenges, novel biomarkers, and treatment options in the era of biologics.

40 citations

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this article, the authors performed a systematic literature review of studies published from Jan 1, 2000 to April 30, 2020 on ILD and polymyositis and dermatomyositis (DM), and pooled the prevalence by using a random-effect model due to high heterogeneity.

36 citations

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors summarize current knowledge on antisynthetase syndrome (ASS), including its epidemiology, pathogenesis, proposed diagnostic criteria, heterogeneity of clinical manifestations, prognostic factors and therapeutic possibilities.

33 citations

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: The prevalence of sarcopenia in patients with RA is high, compared to that in general counterparts, and DAS28 and HAQ are predictive models that predict occurrence; disease duration rather than age, residing area or diagnostic modalities influences sarc Openia development.

31 citations

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors identified all available evidence on the relationship between fibromyalgia and obesity, including epidemiological association, impact of obesity on FM severity and effect of weight loss strategies on FM symptoms.

26 citations

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: A review of axial involvement in Psoriatic Arthritis is presented in this paper, with the aim of increasing rheumatologists knowledge of this phenotype of PsA and thereby aiding its optimal management.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of methotrexate (MTX) on pain and structural progression in symptomatic erosive hand osteoarthritis (HOA) was examined.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this article, the authors discuss the progress in understanding of how PTPN22 impacts autoimmunity in both humans and animal models, with particular emphasis on its role in T and B cells and its function in innate immune cells, such as monocytes, dendritic and natural killer cells.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors conducted a systematic literature review to identify the available treatment options for calcification crystal deposition disease (CPPD) and describe their efficacy and safety, and identified only three randomized, double-blind, controlled trials (RCTs) evaluating the use of methotrexate, hydroxychloroquine, and magnesium carbonate in CPPD, and these therapeutic options, with the exception of METHEX, have shown efficacy and reduction of pain intensity.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors evaluated the frequency, pattern and associations of MSA/MAA in a large Indian cohort of IIM patients and found that myositis autoantibodies are seen in two-thirds IIMs and are associated with distinct clinical subsets.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: The proposed 2018 early-stage knee OA classification criteria showed encouraging performance characteristics with regard to an enrichment for structural and clinical progression using longitudinal OAI data, and results indicate that the addition of clinical findings improves the performance of previous criteria.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: Gout is highly prevalent in Australia compared to global comparisons and continues to increase over time and Hyperuricaemia prevalence is also high although contemporary data is limited.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: The ASAS-OMERACT core domain set for axial spondyloarthritis (axSpA) has been updated in this article, which includes seven mandatory domains (disease activity, pain, morning stiffness, fatigue, physical function, overall functioning and health, and adverse events including death).

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In the FORWARD trial as mentioned in this paper, knee osteoarthritis patients were treated with sprifermin for 18 months and a subgroup at risk (SAR) of further progression was defined as baseline medial or lateral minimum joint-space width (mJSW) 1.5-3.5mm and Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarththritis Index (WOMAC) pain score 40-90 units.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this article, a systematic review examined published cases of refractory gout patients treated with immunomodulation in combination with pegloticase and found that peglosis response was defined according to each study's specified standard.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: A systematic review and meta-analysis on the efficacy of home-based physical activity interventions in improving health-related quality of life, functional capacity, pain, and disease activity in patients with RA was performed in this paper.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this article, Gut microbiota has been proposed as a pivotal role in the progression of Spondyloarthritis (SpA), however diverse results remain to be synthesized.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors evaluated the efficacy of TCZ in patients with GCA presenting with polymyalgia rheumatica (PMR) symptoms only, cranial symptoms only or both PMR and cranial symptom at baseline.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: The results suggest using low-dose IVIG (< 2 g/Kg/month) or HCQ 400 mg/day starting before pregnancy in women with APS refractory to conventional therapy, while high- doses IVIG associated with PE or alone in those with high risk±refractory APS.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In the AOSD study population, 24 months DRRs of TCZ and ANK were similar and significantly higher than the TNFi DRR, and previous use of biologic agents did not affect DRRs.
