Accurate characterization of pure silicon-substituted hydroxyapatite powders synthesized by a new precipitation route

TLDR
The results, particularly those from infrared spectroscopy, raise serious reservations about the phase purity of previously prepared and biologically evaluated SiHA powders, pellets and scaffolds in the literature.

Preparation of Silicon Hydroxyapatite Nanopowders under Microwave-Assisted Hydrothermal Method.

TL;DR: In this article, the synthesis of partially substituted silicon hydroxyapatite (Si-HAp) nanopowders was systematically investigated via the microwave-assisted hydrothermal process, and experiments were conducted at 150 °C for 1 h using TMAS (C4H13NO5Si2) as a Si4+ precursor.

Structural changes during crystallization of apatite and wollastonite in the eutectic glass of Ca3(PO4)2-CaSiO3 system

TL;DR: In this article, a bioactive glass of eutectic composition based on Ca3(PO4)2-CaSiO3 system was prepared and investigated, and it was found that by controlling the nucleation and growth of crystals, a glass-ceramics free from cracks, containing one or two crystalline phases and of controlled nano-scale microstructure can be obtained.

Hydrogen Bonding in Solids

G R Wilkinson
- 01 Oct 1968 -
TL;DR: The subject of hydrogen bonding plays a significant role in determining the structure of crystals and hence the subject is of much interest to physicists, chemists and molecular biologists as discussed by the authors, and as there is now considerable agreement in recognizing hydrogen bonding experimentally, it is also timely.
