TLDR
In this paper, the authors focus on the role of agriculture and fishing in the European level in the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) and Common Fisheries Policy (CFP) and show that agriculture dominates in terms of direct contribution to GDP and numbers of people engaged in it, as well as accounting for the largest amount of public support expenditure.Abstract:
Agriculture and fishing are the primary source of almost all our food, as well as of many other products, so remain vital activities even though their share in the economy is small and in continuous decline. Partly for this reason public policy in these areas is almost entirely integrated at European level in the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) and Common Fisheries Policy (CFP). Forestry policies are also heavily affected by EU-level decision-making. As agriculture dominates in terms of direct contribution to GDP and numbers of people engaged in it, as well as accounting for the largest amount of public support expenditure, it is agriculture that will receive the greatest attention here.read more

Comparative assessment of bio-fertiliser quality of cow dung and anaerobic digestion effluent
TL;DR: The elevated use of inorganic fertilizers due to poor soil quality and the need for an increase in food production to meet the demand of the increasing global population has led to fertility declin...

TL;DR: The presence of infected large sardine off the south coast indicates that these putative stocks are not discrete and that some degree of mixing occurs between them, at least from the western to the southern area.

Patterns and factors in early-stage vegetation recovery at abandoned plantation clearcut sites in Oita, Japan: Possible indicators for evaluating vegetation status
TL;DR: In this paper, a province-level study was conducted to understand the general tendency of vegetation recovery and to obtain information for the management of such extensively distributed abandoned clearcut sites, and the potential indicators that may determine whether a certain site recovers towards evergreen broad-leaved forest consisting of Castanopsis cuspidata and Quercus glauca or towards deciduous broad-leafed forest comprising Q. serrata and Q. acutissima.

Dynamics of Soil Fertility as Influenced by Different Land Use Systems and Soil Depth in West Showa Zone, Gindeberet District, Ethiopia
TL;DR: In this article, the authors compared the soil physicochemical properties of forest land, cultivated land, and grazing land and make investigation among the soil properties, and found that the soil moisture content was significantly increasing with increasing soil depths.
