TLDR
In this article, the authors conducted a meta-analysis to derive a carbon response function describing soil organic carbon (SOC) stock changes as a function of time and estimated a potential global SOC sequestration of 0.03% of the direct annual greenhouse gas emissions from agriculture.

Climate change 2007: the physical science basis

TL;DR: The first volume of the IPCC's Fourth Assessment Report as mentioned in this paper was published in 2007 and covers several topics including the extensive range of observations now available for the atmosphere and surface, changes in sea level, assesses the paleoclimatic perspective, climate change causes both natural and anthropogenic, and climate models for projections of global climate.

Field-scale variability of soil properties in central iowa soils

TL;DR: In this paper, field-scale distributions and spatial trends for 28 different soil parameters at two sites within a watershed in central Iowa were investigated using semivariograms and the ratio of nugget to total semivariance, expressed as a percentage, was used to classify spatial dependence.

Soil carbon sequestration to mitigate climate change

TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed a sustainable management of soil organic carbon (SOC) pool through conservation tillage with cover crops and crop residue mulch, nutrient cycling including the use of compost and manure, and other management practices.

Statistical and graphical methods for evaluating solute transport models: Overview and application

TL;DR: In this article, an overview of various aspects of mathematical modeling focused upon solute transport models, an introduction to statistical criteria and graphical displays that can be useful for model evaluation, and an example of model evaluation for a mathematical model of pesticide leaching.
