Contrasting Global Trends in Marine Fishery Status Obtained from Catches and from Stock Assessments

Extent and implications of IUU catch in Mexico's marine fisheries

TL;DR: In this article, the authors provide a quantitative pre- mortem analysis of Mexico's total marine fisheries catches during the last half-century, showing that from 1950 to 2010, total catches were nearly twice as high as the official reports, with an average annual catch of 1.5 million tonnes (t) compared to 796 thousand T in official statistics.
